  1. It does indeed, including any karibiners used between the harness and the saw.
  2. Those switches often get a bit dodgy with age, probably just a loose/broken connection between the switch and the earth wire, or a knackered switch. You could probably get hold of a new switch pretty easily and fit it yourself. Take the handle apart and have a gander (at your own peril of course) Best of luck!
  3. I'm afraid not, no laws will get you the tree work you want in this case. Perhaps you should consider kindly convincing your neighbours into getting it reduced with an offer to split the cost. Diplomacy is the key. Fueds are not.
  4. Nightmare! Though on the plus side they'll be TPO'd the moment they're in the ground haha
  5. I've climbed many a tree (recreationally) with pigeon nests and the pigeons sat in them looking a little startled as well as embarrassed. I think the poo-and-sticks philosophy rings true for both of them.

    Iphone 4

I've got a trusty old sony ericsson too. I'd get their new smartphone, but I haven't heard good news about them. I went into Vodafone to test one and it had cataclysmic software problems, that was enough to put me off. I think I'm going to get one of those google HTC phones next, they're sleek and hopefully robust; the cases of most models are made of a single piece of aluminium (and a screen obviously), they're like iphones but not (which is the best bit) and I think it's good to be on the right side of Google when they eventually take over the world.
  7. Haha, Pigeons are brilliantly lazy when it comes to next building, they just pile up a load of sticks in a fork and hope for the best, it's almost as if they play Ker-Plunk with their eggs!
  8. Lazy beggars using spikes. You can tell it wasn't a gardener or a farmer because they wouldn't bother buying any!
  9. Double post, sorry.
  10. Ouch! Hope it heals up soon and doesn't stop you working for too long. I managed to nick myself with a 200t today, the engine wasn't even running! I had it on a short loop on the toolstrop, i was in a lime canopy and i wanted to keep it close behind. From now on i'll just leave it to dangle well out of the way!
  11. If you're using a husky, don't put your right hand thumb on the provided thumb-rest, they don't like that. Wrap both thumbs around the handles at all times Practice making your undercut quickly but accurately and under control, so the saw is out before the branch even begins to drop. Trapped saws are a bit embarrasing.

    Spelling Fail

Isn't that the point of the ad? The missing letters are supposed to me a metaphor for tooth loss surely.

    Holy Moly!

Maybe he uses it to crush concrete and only recently discovered he can put wood in it too!
  14. That's good news, I'm hoping to get at least a few fungi ID's and rot type/serverty cracked before my tech cert starts. If the above were true then it would have been a gert big spanner in the works.
  15. So Piptoporus quercinus and inonotus dryadeus look exactly alike? I knew about the latter beforehand, the pipto looks like a great specimen!
  16. Run a hot bath and put in a load of soap flakes, leave to soak. I hear that works. Washing machines are also good but a bit risky as you can wreck the machine, which is fine if you're okay with a very angry missus and no clean clothes. I've had a brainwave, prevention is better than cure as we all know, has anyone come up with a crafty hard-wearing non-pourous sleeve to put over fliplines while you use them on resiny trees? Obviously this would be no good for main lines, but still a nice timesaver.
  17. Don't play with my emotions!
  18. No matter, there was still loads of amazing stuff to dance to through the night. I spent a lot of my time at Chaiwallah and the smaller tent opposite had some good stuff on too. I went sober because I don't touch drugs and have kinda outgrown binging, but had an incredible time nontheless!
  19. They chew up wood fibres to create their nests. That log probably isn't the nest but the fact that they're gathering means there is probably one nearby!
  20. Great, can you get me a price on 50m of that blue lowering rope, 2 really long ladders and a platform or 2?
  21. As well as the dry spring we've had causing summer branch drop?
  22. I went to SGP as well, what an amazing 4 days! You almost pay Glastonbury prices for tickets but with no silly pop artists to attract the kind of chaps that like to start fights. Can't wait to go next year. Tempted to get a spiderman suit and get good and speed-climbing for next year and do my own little act swinging around trees haha.
  23. They probably popped out to get more ladders and string.
  24. I'll be honest, when I read the title Deano came to mind.
  25. Perfect place for a lorry to rip a tree in half, there's a greggs 5 feet away! That damage looks pretty terminal given the location, do you get to replant?
