  1. I only have it on Xbox unfortunately!
  2. Can you do something to make it safe in the longer term? like get some guy ropes up there and just leave it as an unplanned monolith. Explain to the client the other benefits of leaving standing deadwood such as bird activity and such, i'm sure they'll love it.
  3. Left For Dead 2 is a blast. The chainsaw looks like a sly cross between the 2. It's a cruel thing game developers like to do to keep us wondering.
  4. The more recent film, Zombieland. There's a biker dude who at one point is holding a top handle in each hand with what appears to be a 15" bar on both of them. H&S should really get on that, toppers on the ground, honestly EDIT: Oh look, i found a picture
  5. I'm fairly sure a chain snapping is a fairly tame ordeal. The lead chain-catcher under the sprocket literally bends and grabs the chain while the rest flings underneath the saw (may hit you in the leg but with chainsaw trousers on I can imagine it would only sting a little. and strikes the plastic bit below the rear handle that some people think is where you put your foot when you start the saw! EDIT: 200t's, now that's a different ball game i'm sure =|
  6. Hahaha, good plan!
  7. I noticed this last year actually, almost always in the Frisia's. I've hardly noticed it in the green-leaved original type, they seem to be doing fine. I would say it was to do with the stresses of reduced chlorophyll, a cold winter and a dry spring this year but like I said I've been noticing the decline since last summer!
  8. Polesaw for the inevitable hangers.
  9. It does indeed! And after reading Hama's thread I feel enlightened.
  10. I thought I got caught by one 2 weeks ago, but the back window wasn't down. Maybe they'd just arrived or something. No fine in the post yet..
  11. Don't see why there should be any road fuel duty, it's not used on anything road-going.
  12. Don't worry. They've got a job robots will be doing soon. Heard this one?
  13. That's Wiltshire Council for you. I'm sure you could still fit a muffler on that vertical bit.
  14. A rope, a prussick (a loop of slightly thinner rope) and some Karabiners?
  15. It could be road salt leeching into the stream and getting into the soil around the conifer hedge, causing a bit of reverse-osmosis which I imagine would show similar signs as drought.
  16. Well spotted hama! I believe Hi-viz comes in 3 classes dependant on the roads you'll be working on. As a rule of thumb; 30mph or less = class 1; vests etc 40-49mph = class 2; long sleeved shirts/jackets 50mph+ you'll need class 3 which is the whole shebang with trousers and such.
  17. I don't see the point really. Even if they do see you there's nothing they need to do/can do, since they couldn't cause you harm even if they tried! I would consider it if I was doing crownlifts over to the road or something. I also suppose it's handy for letting motorists know from further away that there will be workmen on the ground. (In addition to proper signage of course!)
  18. Me no likey the £300 pricetag. Cool though! I'd rather have a robust helmet cam for less than half the price.
  19. Excellent, thanks. Great pics by the way Sean, maybe worthy of the arbtalk fungi guide?
  20. Clearly I'm having trouble differentiating them. What else is useful to know?
  21. I believe it may be G. adspersum at least this way one of us is correct
  22. Neat glyphosate and an old paintbrush almost always do the job for me.

    free trees

Fair play to them for handing out free trees though. Since Joe Public will be planting them in the most ridiculous of places, it will ensure lots of tree work for the next generation! I ordered a pine, got to love the smell.
  24. I thought you shouldn't burn elder in an open fire because of it's toxicity.
  25. What about scotch eggs?
