  1. We had thought of it and one of our bag suppliers sent us some really nice nets with big colourful band saying chimnia logs in 4" letters looked good. People who use chimnias often have never lit a fire in their lives so simple fuel like this is ideal especially if they are nine parts to the wind.
  2. Little and often. A tiny smudge every couple of months.
  3. Im not taking my clothes off and photographing the wobbly bits. Oh go on then dave as its only you looking I get me camera.
  4. I think dave riding had some bulk bags on ebay a few weeks ago.
  5. I went to the docs a year or so ago about something unrelated to weight and got the third degree about taking more exercise. My cholesterol apparently is 6 and my gut is flab not muscle. I dont feel obese but feel better to do something about it now than wait for it to get worse. I have more time now the economy has slowed up. Good time to take things easy on the business front I have been flat out for the last 20 years. I left school and went straight into an apprenticeship I have only been out of work for 3 months since I left school in 1985 time for a gap year or ten.
  6. I have put on another stone since giving up cutting logs a few months ago. So now 6ft 4 and 18 stone with clothes on. I have bought a used concept 2 rowing machine for christmas. New they are about £1200 but bought a late one for £600 they can be connected to the internet and race against others so we could have an arb talk rowing club. I went for the indoor rower due to the crap weather we get now its to easy to stop the cycling routine when its pissing with rain. I killed my knees when a teenager long distance cycling so dont want to run or cycle too much again. I have been doing about 1/2 hr every other day 6500 meters which is supposed to burn 400 calories.
  7. I am sure the op is genuine as he is a religious man. May be he needs a slight change in direction give harry christner a try they seem happy dancing about the uniform looks cheap and I have never seen a fat one.
  8. The bags are currently 450mmx500mm and weigh 4-5kg I am thinking bigger bags would be 450x800 and weigh 6-7kg so a serious bag of kindling. The trick is to supply a different market without upsetting our customers excisting stock. Thanks for all your feedback.
  9. We make alot of nice neat bags at the moment but are getting offered more timber that is just a tad too short or too notty. This can cause problems in the kindlet. I have had an idea to offer a value bag at the same price but increase the size to compensate for the untidy look of the kindling. How much bigger would the bags need to be ?
  10. I have a 3.1 1992 tropper sitting doing nothing if someone needs bits.
  11. 3.1 engine one of the best. 3.0 one of the worst I would leave it alone
  12. I think I have an oregon one had it years light weight red metal handle. Used it loads need to keep it sharp and for big stuff need to really thump it in which could be a problem if you miss. Ideal for pulling rings about or pulling cord onto a processor. I dont think I would want the weight of a wood handled one.
  13. I dont really like the Lavazza coffee. I have tried most of the coffees in the supermarkets the best by miles has been Taylors expresso. Sainsburys own ground expresso is ok. I have a Gaggia expresso burr grinder but its rubbish does anyone have a reasonably priced burr grinder which is fine enough for proper expresso.
  14. Best way I have found to season is covered top and open sides with mesh like they put round barns to break the wind. The rain hits it and runs down but still allows wind through. I put some bags of logs in a container last year and they came out same moisture as they went in.
  15. A gaggia with proper pump inside can be bought for £140 but they are tonnes more hassle than the latest gadget machines.
  16. The Gaggia machine I use has a proper pump in it and produces coffee to match and often beat proper coffee shops. Some of the expresso coffee you get from some of the big chains is dire. I dont touch instant, perculator or caffitere a well made expresso or I dont bother. You can tell a good expresso by how much creme is on the top. If the coffee does not produce the froth on the top chuck it down the sink. If my machine produces bad coffee it needs descaling and cleaning, the brita filter needs changing, the water is stale or coffee is not fresh. Its a huge amount of fuss but worth it. Stops the head aches and shakes
  17. I am addicted to expresso coffee. Clean machine fresh filtered water and quality beans + good machine makes good coffee. I use a Gaggia but I think things have moved on. Which did a test a month or so ago will try and find it. One of the delongi machines for around £100 did very well.
  18. And I like big butts I wont criticise I cant remember ever cutting a tree down.
  19. I do use the forum to be nosey ref logs but I like pics of big take downs and big tree work with stupidly big unimogs and mewps lots of shiney toys making proper money. Nothing wrong with my load is bigger than your load but you can have enough of log talk and the winters not even started yet . Have the big jobs dried up a bit, some of my big generator jobs seem to have slowed a bit ?
  20. I wondered what those little pins in the bag were for. You mean my logs arent 0%
  21. May be worth looking into one of those shiney rotating cowls you see on roofs. The are supposed to stop back drafts and help the chimney draw. I like the idea about using lots of kindling
  22. Yes they have been out in the rain for 12 months. Whats the alternative get the hair dryer out . The black fully seasoned wringing wet logs burn much better than that creamy coloured barn stored stuff. I am sure your regulars trust you by now to deliver a quality product. Imagine the cost if you have to store 500 cube in barns for 12 months.
  23. cavity wall insulation and double glazed windows I think dropped our bills by 1/3 and the house stays warm all over no cold spots. Do as much of the loft as possible most goes through the roof. loft insulation is dirt cheap as most people get it free now.
  24. Find yourself someone you trust to supply you with seasoned logs accept he wont be the cheapest in the area. Even when stitched up with crap logs people forget when they have had top quality stuff for a year or two and start shopping round again
  25. take it with you leave them a fan heater
