  1. If you think you are going to take the pee on the weight its got to be a defender hicap 3500kg gross tipper. If you are going to be legit I would go for the hilux extra cab and get a tipper body made. It has the best weight allowance of all the hilux range. With that d4d engine you may just get 30mpg on a run when empty. I have a hilux td with muds on and it gets 22mpg no matter what u do.
  2. Keeping the bottom vent closed also helps the airwash over the glass so it stays cleaner.
  3. LOL Jon on a bike I can guess what he will have in the camel back.
  4. I have one and its never oiled well mine is wide open. may pay to clean the pick up pipe and make sure no one has left bio in it for along time. The screw should stop when its wide open.
  5. I would love to clear it out trade but we paid so much for the cord there is nothing left in it. Even worse when you transport it to your yard you need to make a margin as well. Plan is if the weather goes hard up the prices and go out with a bang.
  6. 6 months gives them plenty of opportunity to go bust as well. During the credit crunch alot of my supplier accts were closed due to under use and no other reason. Opening them is a right form filling pain in the butt. But I have now done the same to our customers if you have an acct with us u are honoured if u abuse it your on pro former invoicing no matter how big an organisation u are. If you have a company that is taking the mick wait until they owe a small invoice then take them to small claims court the fees are really low on small amounts and large companies hate this action as it destroys their credit rating. I have a friend who regularly gets payments in cash by motorcycle couriers to avoid his court actions.
  7. I wish I was in your position. Still overrun with the stuff. All dry fully seasoned hardwood. I have spoken to a few other log sellers in our area and they are the same. Even tried advertising the stuff in free leaflets we know from experience works. I just want the room back but cant sell cheap as bought in cord. Hopefully a bit of snow will get their wheels spinning as our happy hilux flys past. I need the space for kindling and playing with my wood miser. Bring it on
  8. Borrow another one push your one up and out. Failing that do you have a relative with very small child.
  9. I have been known in my younger days to fill the trailer from the tip drive to the boot. home by 1 with £250 in my pocket to make the mortgage and feed the kids
  10. I have found the bbc 5 day on the net to often be accurate to the hr. Yet the bbc 10 day often says something completely different and is rarely right.
  11. Lighting towers are excellent value for money. Be careful if you try to do it again as most are not 12 wire machines and cant be reconnected ie if they are 110 volt machines thats your lot and visversa.
  12. The p6000s was very quiet if you need your set quieter than that you either need to spend some serious money or diy as you have said. Pramac is now not an option as they have gone bust.
  13. Ok for power cuts but not for living off grid. Badged as Hyundai but made in china by kipor or kama. We did import one container of these about 8 years ago never again
  14. After servicing generators for 25 years I still think there is only one set for this application. Lister 1500rpm flat top aircooled even 15 years old with standby hrs would be ok. Not a watercooled alpha whatever you do. Or possibly a new 1500 rpm watercooled Kubota.
  15. :biggrin:If you dont ask you dont get. My bags are 40x50cm and hold about 4-5kg Nice neat bags you can see them in my gallery. We have good stock this week but if it comes in cold next week we will be back to making to order. Have a go at making your own and stock some of ours and see how you go. If you get good sales but are too busy to keep making your own you can fall back to us. We are In Andover. drop in for a look, give us a bell to make sure someone is here. 07801 953338
  16. All good ideas if you have a lot of spare time on your hands. If not we can supply neat ready to collect nets for. £1.60 a bag. Ready to sell for £3.95
  17. If your equipment tank is clean and your fuel supply clean, your filters will be clean. Same fuel filter on my disco for 4 years no reason your tractor cant be the same.
  18. I used to insure my tractor a 1981 john deere with a company in hampshire that specialises in classic tractor insurance. They included limited business use and any private use for £70 a year. Your not going to be able to use it for serious forestry work but small business ok and tractor needs to be over 25 years old. If you time it right you get 13 months as well. If interested I will dig out the details. I stopped using them because we occasionally hire in a big new john deere to pull our big trailer. Now that side of the business is dead I will sell trailer and go back to them.
  19. No Jon sober as a judge. I need some of that cider keeps me compliant. I make sure I am off the sauce when I post or you cant believe what you wrote in the morning judging by some of the posts a lot of others find the same.
  20. I sell a 1.5 cubic metre tipped load which I now describe as approx 3 bulk builders bags. If my competition is selling .7 or 1cu metre bags tough luck I already have the business
  21. Clean your tanks out. If you draw water into the fuel pump dont leave there in cold weather as it will freeze and crack the pump open. Get in there with a pump and get the crap off the bottom not just run out of fuel as the fuel line does not drain the vehicle tank to the bottom.
  22. John and mike do you fancy job sharing the chancellor position a kind of coalition. I am not too bothered about the whole tax thing as I will be earning 250k a year pretty much like all the previous mps.
  23. Yep anything for votes
  24. I tried to buy a house years ago and asked a good friend to look over it before I committed to getting a surveyor. It was offers around 85k I carried on making offers to 95k which was enough. But to flush out who bought it I bid it up to 105k. Guess who bought it my mate. moral of story play your cards close to your chest. You could get out what you can. then offer a lot more for the rest blow it apart then walk away.
  25. For the first bit I need to be careful as my usp for being a politician is I fit into this description. For anarchy you need to move to Andover I think its currently Friday and saturday night.
