Its a bit awkward i recon your talking a 100 quid here tops,give him a lecture a dock his wages accordingly,if hes a mate and does his job properly,it may be worth letting it go this time,sack him and he could tell some scummy sorts and theyll come round and clean you out, watch him like a hawk and make sure he knows you are,good luck and dont be hastey.

  4. Id go with the welding idea tom,theres a firm called In steel in Porkellis they can weld anything,there are a couple of guys on here who live in the states,mabe one of them could help you out,its worth a try.

Its dissapointing ad when your starting out,but this type of thing will happen over and over,what can look like a days work to you can be a couple of hours to someone else,it depends on the way they work,ive had it time and again when quoting Llandi hedges,when quoting i will often tell the customer to get other quotes and give them a couple of names usualy people who charge the earth,it makes my quote look great,but keep at it its amazing how little some people will work for,i find it quite amusing.
  6. Apart from the odd tweak the 4 ms200 s we have aint missed a beat in 2 years,but i am keen to see the huskey it may push stihl to make an even better saw than the ms200,but i doubt thats humanly possible sorry Tom ,youve just got a bad one it happens.
  7. Stihl advance mate cheapish 120 quid a pair light weight and ive worn mine 6 days a week for 18 monthst and theyll still see this year out their comfy as hell and in no way blingey 20 out of 10 in my opinion.
  8. Harrows r us do a range of towable splitters not sure where their from,but they are good people to deal with.

I personaly think your between a rock and a hard place anyone can give you advice but on this ocassion,i think you need to take your own,i was young once i pulled all kinds of stunts,this situation is happening to you so you must do what you feel is right,for what its worth i recon you made the right choice this time if it happens again however you must take no prisoners,and she needs to know that,my son has just turned 13 so the next few years should be interesting,good luck matey.
  11. We used to run stihl chains on our 357,s and they worked very well Brandon tool hire used to get them for us they worked fine no probs.
  12. Im level loading the cabstar for 95 quid no ones complaining and last years customers have come back again, im in profit and the customers happy.

  14. My background is in the granite trade massive spinning razor sharp discs no guards or ppe just a wee bit of common scence.
  15. Ive got a willans,but i use an edelrid tree magic,it dont pinch me plums.
  16. The price aint bad wouldnt take much time to make that back,it didnt look any more dangerous than a chipper,youd need to do a bit of research first but i recon it could be a good investment.

  19. Anyone got a price for one the way things are going at the moment regarding the Phytophera scare,any thing that can be converted to fuel,will make money sensible bit of kit id buy one.
  20. The cheap Makitas look a bit feeble,the higher end ones look okay ,but when was the last time you saw a contractor using anything other than stihl or huskey,theres a reason for that.
  21. Ive used the cheap huskeys and they seem cheap in every way but stihl seem to keep standards high throughout the range,on the other hand if you could step upto a 346,youd have one hell of a saw,nothing in its class comes close.
  22. Edelrid tree magic,once you get the setting right its a wicked harness.
  23. My first saw was a Ms180,its still going strong,and still less than 200 quid if you shop around.
