  1. Mine cost me 450 quid on ebay from a firm called harrows are us,its got a fast cycle its well made,it could however do with a bigger splitting wedge 8 inches long instead of 4,and the plate you rest your logs on could do with being atleast a foot bigger, other than that it splits any thing and represents good value for money.
  2. I really need the news papers to mention snow that will be enough to get them panic buying.
  3. Hows trade mate im ticking along but could do with some frost its way to warm down ere at the mo.
  4. I get people phone me all the time its a give away when they start mentioning square meters and asking about hard and soft woods, not yer average house wife,it does tick me off though when every lay by has a mush selling logs, but thats life.
  5. Tree officers are like wind you know they are there but you seldom see one,i agree would be nice to see one box his corner, and give us some insight.
  6. I tried it today on some Larch got a reading of 23 percent, logs felt bone dry,ive not had any complaints yet,so i assume their ok.

  13. Until youve done a couple of years doing arb,i dont think you could possibly call your self over qualified, you have no experience in the real world as of yet,you may get a good job eventualy but youll have to start at the bottom like the rest of us,dragging brash and cleaning up ,dont expect to jump the queue, paper counts for nothing experience means every thing.
  14. I dont think you can smoke any of them Tom.
  15. Brushwood mixed with two stroke fumes on a frosty morning thats my kinda cocktail.
  16. I love a good burn up its so theraputic, especialy on a snobby estate when theyve just put their washing out sheer bliss.
  17. Not used the huskey but know people who have and its all good, but the 441 in my opinion revs to hard and runs very hot during the hot spell i used a 441,it got so hot it was igniting saw dust, its not a bad saw but i think it would self destruct in a short time,it just revs so hard if your looking at a big Stihl just get a 660,one size fits all lovely saw great balance and longevity, and Jonesies got them at a good price.
  18. Yep mines at least 3 tears old and its got the silver side, wicked saw.
  19. The day the bearings went on our machine,it gave no warning the belts just started to slip that was the only warning,we got and if i hadnt had the scence to turn it off straight away who knows what else might have broke in its defence though,it never gave us any problems other than the bearings chipped every day all day never missing a beat, sort the bearings out and youve got one hell of a chipper.
  20. If the occupent calls you a Mush and offers you a tarmac drive its a bit of a given my old china, otherwise look around if some houses have been pebble dashed etc and some are mingin id say you were on a council estate.
  21. Here Here tiz after all a few poxy logs hardly steal of the cetury, for all we know he may only earn 25 pound 10 a week and feel the cold badly.Im glad some of the guys on ere arent head of executions any where.
  22. I know what yer saying Andy we laid a guy off for something similar a few years back,he came back drained fuel tanks slashed tyres stole 1000s of pounds worth of stock, and then got his job back over an unfair dismissal tribunal type of thing,a very bizzarre situation that was totaly avoidable, you really have to be careful.
