  1. just need a bang tidy and big vermeer behind it now i soon got sick of having to arrange hire of chippers and subbies with tippers etc when i started on my moped and cars but needs must and all that once you get a chipper and tipper your away easy to make money with them
  2. done very well for your self there chris i started out from 16 with my moped, then 17 got a corsa then a astra then my first transit tipper at 19/20 yrs old then bought a vermeer chipper then bought another transit tipper then a new timberwolf then went into business with a guy ive worked with from the start basically and here we are now.
  3. not really a tattoo person, but wanted to get one with my newborn daughters name a excuse to see what all the fuss is about, ive got to say it is very addictive.
  4. looks pretty good to me for the false widow, been trying to find one myself for a while now. apparently they like it inside houses or inside trees now.
  5. Cheers fellas, lowering wasnt as smooth as hoped. Really needed a winch or rope to my truck to pull it to aid in getting it out of the other lime. We got there in the end. Only other thing i would have done in a ideal world would have been lowering the rest of the lime coming down, but wasnt going to chance it off that tree could have anchored a pulley from another tree but would have risked damaging the anchor tree. Other than that all went well. I think the 16mm rope was tested as you see in the pics the outer strands started to snap, thats a brand new rope only used twice before this.
  6. working on a estate that we do the trees on now. they have spent alot of money on these 3 limes in reduction work and re reductions etc etc. we deadwooded all 3 of these a few weeks ago. yesterday went to clear up one as one of them had snapped out at about 5ft where a old cavity was, whole tree was riddled in saddleback fungus. lucky for the client it failed into another lime as to save the lawn. we used the grcs and stein dual bollard to lower the whole stem in one section to prevent as little damage to the lawn as possible. 2 of us cleared the tree in the day. back tomorrow afternoon to stump grind. not a thrilling video i mainly made it cause of gareth falling over
  7. last year or so ive been on here less and less, i dont post many pics and even less videos now as i used to, i also no lots of people who dont/won't come on here anymore or post on here because of the atmosphere on here.
  8. Worst was years ago when i was subby climbing turned up to dismantle 2 conifers guy had put a day on it. No way they were monsters all had to be lowered and only 2 of us onsite took 3 days! Dont know what he was thinking. As for good couple years back turned up to dismantle a big multi stem conifer again same guy subby climbing for was going to be day and half rigging it all out i desided to ratchet strap the stems together and get the landy winch on it and felled it in one between the house and other trees early finish
  9. Depends how well he is with saving, most people see the money and it gets spent on something. Spreading the work will help cash flow and instead of being sat indoors once your out of work you will be out working giving more time to get more work in. How i see it
  10. I fitted my log burner in my old house last year it was a open fireplace i bought the little woodburner to fit straight in the opening bought the stainless flue bought all fittings etc couple of hours all done very easy to do if the chimney is already there and working its a simple job
  11. one from last month back leaning hollow sycamore, had to miss the 2 fences and fell it in such a way to miss the foundations on the building plot
  12. That 2.5 tons is with 2 guys in it and nothing in the back so payload would be 8/900kg which isnt even worth it for how much money they cost! I prefer are l200 same payload much better to drive better on fuel more compact goes in tighter areas etc etc if we converted the l200 to a ali tipper i think we would end up with over a ton payload.
  13. Not enough will be the answer we have a 130 with brand new ali tipper on back empty weighs 2.5 tons better off with pick up conversion.
  14. Message ian flatters he had his 90 chipped for better fuel econamy i think
  15. Thats what we have been getting from it we bought it few months ago so had a fair few months work from it always get that return
  16. We have a 2010 l200 club cab very nice truck i love it holds weight well tows very well. Im used to transit tippers so fuel was much better in the l200 60-70 quids worth gets it 500miles in 2wd mixture of loaded and empty not driving economically
  17. Waste of money. yellow pages you get more waste of time callers trying to sell you stuff than work from it. Internet and parish magazines have taken over.

  20. lovely old strawberry tree never worked on one before, this one is a wonderful little tree loads of character, some old bracing, also a failed wire brace higher up. the main stems have all torn away from each other but the brace is doing its thing for the time being.
