  11. awesome mate! it is a lovely feeling getting to the top of a nice peak
  12. i was in the same sort of situation last year when i was getting work but had to get subby in with chipper all the while and on small jobs takes everything out of the job. i went down the cheap old vermeer chipper route and very bad choice ended up getting brand new tw125 i put the min deposit down (10%) over 5 years and the payments are £222 it was a massive commitment for me to sign up to, but in reality it has to go out once a month to more than pay its way.
  13. this is are setup what we would love is a tipper trailer, cherry picker and one bigger chipper instead of the two small timberwolfs other than that its a alright setup it pays the bills.
  14. the way to look at it is, do you spend more in hire costs each month hiring in a chipper? also your buying a investment so the paper says your paying £200 a month for it. but really your only paying really £50-£100 a month because when you come to sell it or trade in for a new one, if you look after it you will always get a very good price back for it. probs at least half of what you paid for it
  15. Does the chute not come off? Or cant it be fabricated to hinge so it could fold?
  16. its always funny when it starts to rain how things get done quicker
  17. Sweet!! Need to see a vid of this beast chewing up some big logs!!
  18. When ever i go rock climbing i sleep in the slate mines not to far you cant walk into town in half a hour and the climbing is right there wrong side of the valley for the hills though.
  19. today working at the same place as my previous post at the top of the page. had 9 mature spread out limes to remove epicormic growth and just clean the stems off, the owners of the house like to see clean stems which makes things very hard work for us doing the work having to aim the throw line 60ft plus to the first proper branch nothing to climb off and cant aim very well because of all the thick growth we got there eventually first pic is where half a section of one of the limes had failed, second is a picture of the easiest 4 trees. all in all not in very good shape any of these trees.
  20. Todays job was cleaning up 3 mature limes that are in a very bad way, had lots of work done on them. There days are numbered i fear cracking view though! Back tomorow to clean about 10 limes stems of epi growth upto about 15 meters the clients like clean lime stems who are we to argue. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  21. I had a guy send me a picture of a sweet chestnut he wanted felled and ground out i thought it would be like hours work in and out one truck i said between 100-180 quid went to look at the tree its about 20inches across at thr base gave him a fixed price for £275 we got the job but pictures never can show the true size.
