  1. Got asked to quote to fell this willow today easy enough absail down fell it then winch it up with the landy and chip. She then asked me about killing the stump i said we defo cant get a grinder down there, we cant use chemicals because of the river. Only option would be winch it out with the landy but then you risk damaging the building is there a simple answer? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  2. Used the grcs to tention up the butt end, then i cut through it and placed the limb on the cord wood we had laid down to place it on. Basically just to stop causeing any damage to the trunk or the butress roots that are at the base of the stem.
  3. Unfortunatly not as they like everything very neat and tidy its right infront of the big house so they want it looking tidy. Shame cause it was a wonderful tree will soon get very decayed from that wound i think though
  4. Had a callout after two jobs today, to this massive copper beech we have deadwooded it before and i have reduced this limb last year to reduce the end weight. this limb was taller than the actual tree. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  6. had this relaxing, fun job for today just dropping dead trees, no clearing up, no cutting up just felling. i tryed to get the owners to consider habitat poles but they didnt like the idea. would have got some better footage with my camcorder and other helmet cam but it was really hammering down with rain most of the day. found this old lorry parked on a steep slope back half is totally buried and has a fair size oak growing ontop any ideas what it is?
  7. 2nd job of the day today felled another cedar behind this one and this little cedar to reduce from the house we reduced the whole crown to balance it up abit. relaxed day
  8. ive never turned away work, there is always a way to do the job. crane, mewp etc not cheap to use big kit but sometimes its the safest way and if someone wants to risk it climbing and rigging let them crack on. if you have loads of work on and dont want it tell them you dont want it.

  20. That was a joke saying about felling it! The client who is 60/70odd said he would do it him self thought it would just be a simple drop it job
  21. yes ive done many shutdowns, theres not really any risk with a shut down though live work is where the tickets and training comes into it. i asked a simple question i dont see how its silly. the jobs not that complex, the power company had at look at it for me there not that bothered about it he said we will get a shutdown at some point to clear it away from the wires.
