  1. Clark Forest are delighted to announce the launch of the new Clark Log Jack...for anyone involved in the chainsawing of logs, this tool is a must! The Clark Log Jack takes a different approach to the traditional chainsaw saw horse where the log needs to be lifted up off the ground into the cutting position. With the Clark Log Jack, there is no need to physically lift the log off the ground, as the log is firmly gripped on the ground between the jaws and the specially hardened hook. The log is then effortlessly rolled over into the cutting position and is held firmly in place with the Log Jack providing a steady platform for chainsawing. Bar and chain damage is also minimised because the log is kept up off the ground. Manufactured from high strength steel with a specially hardened steel hook, Log Jack can handle logs up to 400mm (16") in diameter. An extremely useful tool for anyone involved in the chainsawing of logs. Whether you have firewood to cut or longer lengths of wood to tackle, the Log Jack makes cross cutting timber fast and efficient and would make a very useful Christmas pressie too! For further information or to purchase online please see: Clark Log Jack at clarkforest.com Retail price is £98 + VAT each (including delivery to mainland UK) and we are offering all Arbtalk members a special 10% Arbtalk discount : please enter the code ATLJ10 at the checkout and the discount will be applied automatically. Originally designed and manufactured by Clark in the 1950s, the new protected design Clark Log Jack has been revamped for 2010 using Clark 3D CAD software and the most advanced manufacturing techniques and high strength steels. 7. During the 1950s to 1980s, the majority of the UK's commercial forests were planted with the assistance of Clark Forest Ploughs and with the recent increase in new tree planting schemes being implemented across the country and the grant assistance available for large scheme planting, we are delighted that the Clark Forest Ploughs are making something of a comeback and are once again preparing thousands of acres of land for tree planting. If you are a contractor or have any customers that are interested in implementing such a scheme and require information on the ground cultivation equipment required, we'd be pleased to discuss. This video was taken recently on a private estate where 150 acres of mixed hardwoods are being planted: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOksAUUN-Rk]YouTube - Forest Plough from Clark[/ame]

  14. Our new Log Jack tool might also be of interest to you. We first manufactured this product in the 1950s and this is the redesigned modern version. The Clark Log Jack can easily be transported in the back of a pick up and taken on-site. There's also no need to lift the logs off the ground to cut either....the hook on the Log-Jack makes rolling the log over very easy. The log is then lifted off the ground and held in place with the teeth on the bottom edge and the hook, ready for cross cutting. Here's some images of it in action and there are more on our facebook page at: Clark Log Jack on Facebook
