  4. Oops, I forgot to leave something in the tin on Thursday, so have just made a donation online. Well done everyone! Excellent amount raised for an excellent cause
  5. There are indeed plans afoot for a working machinery demo in Ae Forest in June 2011. I'll post further info once final details are agreed.
  6. It was a last minute decision to go, got the chance of a lift that I couldn't refuse. Anyhow, if you fancy a trip north next June, you should come up to the Scottish Forestry Demo....big machines working in the forest..would be great to see you there! Glad you had a great time at the APF.
  7. Awww Liam, I wish I'd known you were there yesterday, would have been great to meet you and your grandad! Hope you didn't go home too skint! Sorry to have missed you

  11. Be delighted for you to use the image David Janey, I'm not entirely sure what the Phaeolus was growing on...will check and get back to you.
  12. Thanks David. That helps me update my little fungi library I was particularly taken with the Phaeolus schweinitzii...it was the size of a dinner plate and did indeed look just like velvet. I fear I may be getting hooked on this fungi thing
  13. and a few more.....
  14. Brilliant photos as usual David....you inspired me to go out a' hunting today! Here's a few I found. Would be great if you could id them for me please
  15. I've used the Arbazon Book Store a couple of times for tree ident. and landscaping books and it works brilliantly. I've already got an Amazon account set up, so once the books are added to my arbazon basket, when I click on the checkout, it takes me straight to my Amazon account for a quick and easy purchase. If the books are in stock, delivery is next day. There's a good selection of books in the Arbazon store and if there's something I want that's not there, I'll give you a shout Steve, to add it in. (To be honest, I'd rather buy from Arbazon and know that some funds are going back to Arbtalk to help fund site development etc, than straight to Amazon themselves)
  16. Just a quick reply to some of your questions.... I am happy to confirm that the Clark cutandclimb jackets are not manufactured in exploited sweat shops. They are currently manufactured in the UK. So for anyone that's ethically concerned, the jacket ticks the right box there. The Exeat material that they are manufactured from is also used by the military and the police for their outdoor garments. It is hard wearing, waterproof, and breathable. The jacket has derived from an outdoor all-weather jacket and has been adapted to specifically meet the requirements of the arborist.....longer length at back, pockets higher to allow access whilst wearing harness etc. Any further questions, be happy to answer. cheers, Y
  17. I didn't pick up on your comment ad...no worries and no, I wouldn't buy a chainsaw from berghaus, I understand exactly what you mean. Our jacket has been tried and tested in the industry and is def. up to the job
  18. You might be interested in our waterproof arb jacket: Clark cutandclimb Waterproof Jacket designed for Arborists Here's Steve's review of it: http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/ppe-trousers-boots-etc/16617-clark-cut-climb-waterproof-jacket.html If you need any further info, please give us a call.

  20. As per Bob's confirmation, colour is as per the photo Samuel. Give us a ring if you need further info.
  21. Thanks for the post Andy and kind comments, also SJB2805's comments. It's really great to get your positive feedback and nice to know we are keeping our customers happy. Although our website is convenient for customers placing orders outside our office hours, you just can't beat a natter on the phone Thanks to Steve and Arbtalk for introducing us to so many of you guys....good bunch all round (Our new revised website will be up and running next month...we'll keep you posted as to the go-live date and will welcome your thoughts/comments on it). Have a super weekend!
  22. Sean, we have these in stock...please give us a call if you need any further info. (I'm on holiday just now, but the lads will be able to help you). There are some new DMM products coming out shortly (Pinto Pulley and the Impact Block, but the single swing cheek has been available for a long time). Y
  23. Thanks Hama....indeed it is aptly named! This was right at ground level David and I coudn't see any unhatched eggs around it, but I'll go back and have a better look again today. Funnily enough, I didn't smell anything offensive emanating from it. Does the stink come along a bit later in it's life cycle? (lol...I had contemplated adding it to your other thread!!) Incidentally, it was at least 12" long...is that about the normal length or do they also vary in size?
  24. I know you have plenty of these already David, but this was my first encounter. Fascinating.
