  1. Sorry Graham, I honestly have no idea about that.
  2. Thank you Matty and Andrew. So, if these are like tumours in trees, are they damaging to the tree itself or can the tree(s) live quite healthily? Is this common and do they normally grow as big as this? Would one tree have started off with the disorder and as it has grown, have connected to the other tree? thanks
  3. I took this photo years ago and was really intrigued by these melded together trees (Wellingtonias I think?). I never got round to finding out what was going on between them and wonder if you knowledgeable people can explain it please? thank you
  4. I reckon these guys could easily qualify as Britain's first 'tree surgeons'?? ....back after a break of 400 years....... Beavers born in the wild in Scotland spotted in Argyll | Glasgow and West | STV News (sorry Stevie, couldn't resist posting this )

  9. If we can be of any help Stevie, pm me your contact number and I will ask Blair in our sales team to give you a ring tomorrow to discuss what your best options would be. It won't be a problem to get one up to Inverness for early next week. cheers
  10. HA! insurance renewal premiums....be on your guard and don't take the price on the renewal notice as gospel. My daughter (19) received her renewal notice from Diamond with a quoted annual premium of £1200 (she has an ongoing accident claim on her policy, so higher premium and no NCB this year ). I checked on comparethemarket.com and the lowest price was with Diamond, but amazingly at £850 I phoned them up to ask why i could get it cheaper online and by the end of the phone call, I got the renewal down to £650!! Half the original quoted price! Shop around would be my advice or phone your insurers up and haggle with them. Good luck
  11. will pm you ermmmm.....what size you after!!!!!!!!!!??

  14. I think maybe that link has changed as it takes me to a video on William Kentridge (artist). ?? I wonder if it was 'Capturing the World's Oldest Living Things' article you had it pointing to originally? Capturing the world's oldest living things - CNN.com Quite amazing!
  15. It's maybe a bit premature at the mo Stevie, he still needs to earn the cash, but thank you Brilliant informative advice Defenderjack....will get him to bear those in mind when he goes a' hunting! There are a couple of lads at work that are Landy owners, so will tap into their knowledge. Mozza, he's been on pistonheads and finding lots to drool over!!! David, he's joined LR4x4.com, so guess he'll become an addict shortly! Thanks a million for all your help guys
  16. He's learning how to strip and rebuild hydraulic rotators and next week he's on the CNC lathes!! (He loves your wheels Liam.....just what he's after but without the cover )
  17. Thank you guys! He's had his heart set on a Landy for years and is now the right age to get his hands dirty, get into the guts of it and learn how they work. Will get him to have a look around on autotrader to see what's available and I'll say to him to have a look at the series motors too. (I'm sure he'll have great fun with it when he eventually saves up enough money to buy one....he's working in our company during his holidays to save up enough cash to buy one).
  18. My 14 year old son is looking to buy an old short wheel based Landrover Defender (pref post 1990 with power steering)....can anybody point us in the right direction of where to look, who's selling etc. We're in south west Scotland but will travel if the right thing comes along. cheers, Yvonne
  19. All our customers look this happy
  20. Any of the above Jamie.....also H & W Forestry
  21. Ian, this is a very quick botch job in photoshop - to do it properly would take hours of painstakingly lassooing the image to cut out the background and trace round the shape. There are lots of fiddly bits to go around. If you are working in Photoshop, the magnetic lassoo tool is the one you need to work with - almost pixel by pixel to get a smooth outline. If you need any further instructions, let me know. (Sorry I don't have time to do it for you )
  22. Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday dear Arbtalk Happy Birthday to yooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!
  23. Lack of a suitable venue I believe
  24. last night's spectacular finale.........
  25. I use Photoshop for image editing, but iPhoto, already loaded on macs, has basic photo editing functions which will allow you to crop, rotate and auto enhance the images, but it depends what your task is really as to whether or not this would suffice. In iPhoto, you can create copies of the images before editing them, by creating 'new albums', thereby keeping the originals. ALWAYS keep the originals! I guess you may be wanting to do more than just the above to the images, like specific resizing and adding watermarks to the images and I have an idea....will catch up with you later on that.
