  4. The Petzl Altios is also a good choice if you are looking for a cooler head . Combine it with safety glasses and ear plugs, it's a seriously light weight helmet and with the internal suspension system, the helmet floats above your head giving a near weightless feeling. Help

    You're not alone........... http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/14421-virus-query.html
  9. Good to hear that there are many toasty warm hands out there. Thanks to all for the orders
  10. Helmets for industrial use bought on their own are VAT exempt. Muffs and visors bought on their own are not VAT exempt and taxed at the current standard tax rate. However, if a helmet, visor and muffs are bought as one complete unit, then the complete unit is VAT exempt.
  11. As far as I understand, it's not related to protective equipment being essential or non-essential, it's just simply that protective boots and helmets for industrial use are zero VAT rated. No other types of PPE are zero rated.
  12. haha - great minds think alike!
  13. Not sure if these would do the job for you? Safe_Eyes Goggles
  14. I'm sure they will be able to extract the data and put it on a storage device for you. Their tel no. is 0131 208 0008, ask for Jason or Aynsley. Good luck (Sorry Paul, your thread is fast becoming a geek's thread......back to the trees....)
  15. Paul, just been chatting to our photographer and James (our IT geek) and it may not be the end of the world as far as your SD card is concerned. There are a couple of options that might be of interest to allow you to get the images from the card. One would be specialised software (I can get you the details of this if you are interested) and the other is to send the SD card to a data retrieval company. James has a couple of mates who run www.kingdomit.co.uk. They've been able to retrieve data from a laptop that fell in the sea, so hopefully your SD card should be a piece of cake for them. Hope this is of help
  16. Paul, I really hope you can get your SD card to work as it would be wonderful to see your photos. I'm just back from Mallorca and I was intrigued by the contorted shapes of the trees. Hope you don't mind me cheekily posting some of my photos on your thread....it might give everyone a taster of what's, hopefully, to come from you First three are of the ancient gnarled olive tree in Placa Cort, Palma (said to be quite a few centuries old, some are 800 years old). Others are random snaps showing amazing texture and shape (and some little fun guys too). Look forward to seeing your work
  17. Thanks Garry...ordered just in time for another bash of snow! We'll get those out to you on Monday

  20. The size 9 (large) in the Tegera should be a comfy fit for your Nick.

  23. Dave, so far, so good.....we haven't had any negative feedback on the Sealskinz gloves. I'll contact them tomorrow and ask them about your experience. Will let you know what they say. Y
  24. If anybody wants further info on the gloves, click on this link: Tegera Thermal Grip Gloves (Glad the Sealskinz are keeping you cosy Shrek.......oh and I love the new look )
  25. Thanks for the positive feedback Mark Good to know that they have been put through their paces and still kept your hands warm in such cold/wet conditions. It's the fleecy lining that does the work in keeping your hands warm and the nitrile coating will keep the wet out. Moisture will of course seep in through the ventilated back, but for them to keep you dry up to the last half hour of work is impressive. Our lads are using them for handling freezing cold steel and they are the best gloves they have used in that price range for keeping their hands warm and offering grip. And as you say, the hi-viz yellow cuff stops you losing them! They are also machine washable at 40 degrees. £4.95 + VAT per pair.......orders being taken
