  1. Wow! Well done Steve. I'm sure you don't do it for recognition but well deserved.
  2. I despise them. In tree work or any business. They're mostly very cheesy (like the examples above - hope they aren't serious!) or just absolute nonsense. You can just imagine the kind of people sat in board meetings coming up with this tripe.... ......... XYZ Tree Specialists Cutting trees for a brighter tomorrow.
  3. We're a sad bunch, aren't we?! Haha only joking, i'm looking forward to it too! Looks much better behind the Iveco.
  4. Well done mate. Have a beer
  5. Best to get a swing cheek pulley. They keep everything a bit more compact on the krab- especially if you are using knot to knot friction cord instead of eye to eye. http://www.frjonesandson.co.uk/products-page/climbing-equipment/pulleys1/36kn-isc-swing-cheek-pulley-red/
  6. Goaty - It's only 7.5ton so drivable on a pre 97 licence - sadly i don't have one Rather than just going for c1+e, i though i may aswell pay a little bit more and go for the full artic test. Edwood - there's no law to speak of regarding woodburners in vehicles, insurers a generally fine with them.
  7. Do you mean it would be exempt from needing a c1 licence? Not sure. I've looked into that in the past, it's a grey area with motorhomes... but thought i would do the full C+E licence anyway as it would be good for tree work as well.
  8. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it Got 2 little roller catches on each cupboard door, hopefully they will hold them shut! that would make a nice home! plenty of space! The bloke who helped me with some of the conversion lives in this old bedford horsebox, it's beautiful!
  9. Nice one mate, it's always good when people offer their time for charity, not just donations.
  10. Thanks guys We are living on a farm for a while, we'll take to festivals next summer and in the future Europe, but for most of the time it'll be static. (i need to do my HGV licence first ) Luckily we have slept in campervans quite a bit, so used to the pitter patter of raindrops, i like the noise actually. It's well insulated so keeps the heat out as well as in, so no bother there. It's quite windy here and i've never noticed it inside the truck.
  11. Thought I'd share this as we are quite proud of it and hopefully it may interest some of you. Fed up of paying £9000 a year on rent & bills that we would never see again for crappy 1 bed flats, we decided to buy a project live-in vehicle and make a home. This is the result and we haven't spent much more than a years rent in total inc the original purchase. It's taken alot of hard work and i've missed several arb shows to get it done, well worth it though! Here's some specs to please the geeks Merc 814 with OM366 engine (same as alot of mog's) 32ft x 8ft (living area about 27ft long) Calor Gas running the little electrolux fridge, Rangemaster cooker and Rinnai 58e on demand boiler. 240w of PV Monochrystaline solar panels feeding 2 x 225ah batteries, 240v inverter feeding several 3pin wall sockets throughout. Villager woodburner with a windy smithy hat. LED SMD lighting throughout, only uses about 2 amps when all of them are on. Around 0.3amps each. Shower room with compost separating toilet. Some nice bits of solid waney edge ash for the kitchen top, shelf and office/studio desk, made by Tim, my old housemate. Kitchen cupboard doors and frame are solid oak. Think i've covered most of it... It's not 100% complete yet, i'll put some pics up of the 'living room', bed area and shower room when finished. You can read the blog documenting the build here offgrid814 (newest post first, oldest at bottom)
  12. Oh, panic over! Cover for Stihl MS200T, MS200 - 1129 020 1150 | Stihl MS200/MS200T/020/020T Chainsaw Spares
  13. I'm looking for a new inside cover (next to clutch) It's Page 3, number 11 on this link.... trouble is, it just says Cover (D) with no part number. http://bricomeca.free.fr/Stihl/stihl%20MS200T%20IPL.pdf
  14. cramped, slow, drives like a boat when loaded (take about 10 mins to fill it!), expensive... but they're pretty cool. I wouldn't have one as my only means of chip transport, but handy to have as part of a fleet!
  15. Yeh I got the email about the 540xp. It is honey bros, with a different name. Same address and phone number. Guess they're trying to get a bigger market share.
  16. For a DIYer that has learnt everything from watching video's on youtube, he has done quite well!! Don't see many homeowners speedlining leaning trees over houses
  17. You guys are definitely comfortable! and the talk about pink or brown - like you guys have any say in the matter only just realise that it was pre-order, they'll be sent out end of sept/ early oct. I'll put up a picture then.
  18. +1 for airstreams, comfortable straight out the box!
  19. The going rate here is about £7/metre, £8 with stakes. You won't use much fuel if using bill hooks and silky's.
  20. I just ordered them - i'll take a picture of my pretty setup when it arrives!
  21. I'm not worried mate, I'm proud and want the world to know Better than nothing though, I wanted a new hitchclimber setup anyway so it's all good. The question is, what friction cord to buy? Don't want it to clash
  22. ...enough to buy the new pink hitchclimber setup? I'm in! (it's for a good cause!) DMM Limited Edition Pink Set - Honey Brothers Ltd
  23. alex_m

    ported 150T

So saving milliseconds on each 4" cut will make you more money? (enough to pay for a new £370 saw?)
  24. Sounds like your boss want to have all the perks of full time staff, but without the usual responsibilities of PAYE. (holiday pay, sick pay, ppe, climbing equipment etc) If you are working for one person full time you cannot be self employed! sounds very dodgy.
  25. 47ft unless there's some kind of camera trickery.
