  1. Topper, twenty, 020, top-handle, stihl ms200t, bob, who cares what you call it! and re: OP - save your 90 euros and put it towards a 150t.
  2. As tough as it is to have it in my hands and not use it for a couple of days, I have decided to swap everything for 3/8
  3. seen the v8 chainsaws on youtube?
  4. So is the 3/8 just more aggressive and the 325 smoother, but slower? and i take it a 7t rim sprocket is standard?
  5. Got one from the dealer earlier with 15" and 20" bars, just realised they are .325 pitch - i thought 60cc+ was generally 3/8? So, what are your opinions on this? Should i keep the .325 or swap to 3/8 before I use it for the first time?
  6. 395xp. You won't be dissapointed. I think alot of people are scared to make the jump from what they know (660 etc) to the equivalent husky. I bought mine second hand for £500, but it's easily worth buying new (with 28 + 36" bars). Edit: also, with stihl's new policy, it makes it an easier choice - husky machines and parts can still be ordered online or on the phone on your lunch break and be with you the next day (depending on dealer).
  7. No not at all. Even without a house that i own or a flash new car, I still feel privileged compared to alot of people in the world and the uk. Any of the opinions i have voiced in this thread aren't me being bitter about my situation, just pointing out the sorry state of the housing market. and re: the biting of my tongue, that's a bit of a cop out, sorry. I just felt that some of what was said was a tad obnoxious, with a hint of elitism.
  8. Glad you asked, don't think this subject has been mentioned on here before.
  9. Biting my tongue.
  10. 98m - put it on fb aswell just in case you miss it
  11. Well done mate!
  12. Good timing with this article hehe.... http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/society/first-time-buyers-advised-not-to-bother-2013120281586 Sent using Arbtalk mobile app
  13. But if you keep it charged so it isn't constantly going down below 50% then it'll last longer. Leisure batteries like being trickle charged constantly, rather than constant drain/charge/drain/charge.
  14. haha, bless! that's definitely the best saw stihl make at the moment
  15. That would do the job - i have two of the 225ah versions of these. LUCAS 663 / 664 HEAVY DUTY | 12V 110ah Battery. Truck | Lorry | Leisure | Marine | eBay I recommend lucas highly! 110ah and £20 cheaper than the one you posted.
  16. Loving the rant mate. Ah yes, the bedroom tax. The tories are full of good ideas like that. So, will buckingham palace be hit by that? It's the country's biggest council house after all. Oh and under this government squatting has been made an illegal offence, rather than a civil matter like it was before. and Police under the tories have recently been confiscating possessions of homeless people (ie sleeping bags etc). Something has to change. Trouble is the majority of people are far too comfortable in their bubble to be bothered to kick up a fuss. I predict a massive **** storm over the next couple of decades and fear for the next generation and my yet to be conceived children Sorry, massive derail. Just look how bloody lovely the cob house is! more here.... https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=cob+houses&espv=210&es_sm=93&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=3XabUpbNBYPKhAexsID4Cw&ved=0CC8QsAQ&biw=1517&bih=713&dpr=0.9
  17. Yes that did pop into my mind but i don't know enough about it to say whether it was related or not. Either way, the rise didn't just happen on it's own.
  18. My mum said that her and my old man bought a house in london in the mid eighties because it was cheaper than renting!! Here is a graph representing the average house price rise from the mid seventies What the hell happened in 1997??? It went from averages of £50k upto £175k in ten bloody years!! That is criminal. My generation haven't got a hope! and look at this, 1998-2010 mortgages vs av wages
  19. I completely agree, I did say it's the case for most people being in the trap, not all. I can't afford a mortgage, nor do i want one. Renting is almost as expensive unless you settle for a crap bedsit. A subject i mentioned in this thread about my live in vehicle - http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/lounge/62310-recent-project-our-home.html ............... Oh come off it, that's complete BS What constitutes 'working for it' in your eyes?
  20. Couldn't agree more. The only choice most people have is either rent forever (massive waste of money) or get stuck with a lifelong mortgage on a shite 2 bed new build with a postage stamp garden (again, massive waste of money). This is one of the worst things about over population. The home in the original post is beautiful, sustainable, will last a long, long time and is a fraction of the cost of a new build estate house. Realistically a cob house will cost around £10k -£15k, which is still great, but the planning laws in this country are just awful so it's not as simple as buying a bit of nice land/woodland for £20k then building a £10k home. It's as if the government want us all to get in debt to the tune of £150k and make the banks and corporations loads of money
  21. Last of the storm damage jobs, Beech removal this week.
  22. ...where they speak Russian, like he said...
  23. Just be sure next time you sell one to put in the description that if the saw doesn't work upon arrival they can send it back, after that it's not your responsibility any more.
  24. I'd say if it doesn't work upon arrival or within a couple of days, a refund is due, but after that it's a risk you take when buying second hand.
  25. There's one that's just as good/better for £52 on ebay/amazon. For tree work video's, i don't know why you'd spend £350 on a gopro...
