  2. haha! thats a great idea! get a massive tab from it instead of payment. i should think that it would be a more attractive proposition for him.
  3. If you are genuinely concerned then let the landlord know and just say that he should get it felled - and say he could call up any tree surgeon, not just you. That way you wont come across as a canvasser.
  4. both of my hobbies are potentially expensive. especially when i have a skatepark in the garden and a 20kw soundsystem (yeah right) couple of pictures from recent times....

  17. A local firm was fined around £25,000 for taking down a protected oak. woops. edit: may be the same tree as a.collins post above ^^
  18. sorry for using the word 'law' - i am completely in the dark about it so wasn't sure what terms to use. so it is just advised that you wear one or you have to? just to clear up and shut down the thread.... cheers
  19. could anyone confirm this? a new minimum standard of helmet is to be introduced so all must have side protection - (like the petzl vent's) a friend was told this when wanting to buy a helmet the other day. the person behind the counter told him he should buy that helmet (which happens to be the most expensive one...) as this new standard will be introduced soon.

    VT's?

Hi, excuse my ignorance, i'm used to using prussik loops to climb with and have heard people reffering to 'VT's' - what exactly are they and am i better off using one? thanks edit: would it be possible to create a 'newbie' type section so people like me don't have to ask silly questions in the general section? just a thought...
