  1. So it's gone from 50mph+ and lashing it down to nothing. at all. Strange weather we have had over the last month.
  2. This is almost as windy as the 'great storm' a month or two back Must be 50-60mph gusts at least. We're at the top of a hill, 10 miles in from the bristol channel so open to all the weather has to give!
  3. Also on bigger lumps, put the ears above the back cut, not below - otherwise it can take the saw with it!!
  4. Yes, a good example of why you should ALWAYS put ears in on willow.
  5. Bloody windy in N.Somerset.
  6. I have used Osmo Polyx oil for my ash kitchen worktop. Brilliant finish and hardwearing.
  7. Looks like it's part way through a dismantle.
  8. this thread is justa few down from yours... http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/chainsaws/66430-new-saw-stihl-husky.html
  9. I've owned both a 550 and 560xp over the last year and used a 261 and 362 quite a bit and have to say that Stihl have lost the plot. The only positive I can find with the 362 is that it is quite good at chugging through logs once it has picked up speed (which takes a while) - It's almost like they aren't pro saws anymore, more like landscaper/farmer saws. There needs to be a mass boycott of Stihl saws, I really don't know what they're playing at.
  10. The today's job thread is interesting and always updated which is great. For pure entertainment and randomness, Jon's posts have to be up there. Silky's of course.
  11. I use one twice a week at least, just bloody awesome. Today I used it on a big poplar with a snapped out leader, we winched it out of the tree it was hung up in and lowered it to safety once clear. So versatile - buy one now.
  12. He has good feedback for lots of stein spikes, so you should be ok.
  13. Puxton Park right next to WSM may be worth a shot - I used to tip there loads earlier this year for a previous company.
  14. has to be.. or or
  15. A company i work for has one of these, very affective! Instant protection
  16. I've done it before, certainly not all the time (maybe twice in 5 years?) and that was because there wasn't a pole pruner (silky etc) to hand. None of the companies i work for now own one so not an option!
  17. Might not be a bad thing in this case Seriously though, that wouldn't of been cause by small stones. Even a scaff pole wouldn't do that.
  18. Hi Jon, it'll be on 15" most of the time, i'll put the 20" on for the odd climbing job where my 395 is a bit overkill. I won't be doing hour after hour of logging with the 20. The 560 has bags of power.
  19. Wow! could a crane of helped? Better than carrying rings through the house!
  20. A Terrorist or something similar. and Cameron was invloved with making pro-apartheid, anti-anc posters in the 80's. Anyway, lets not concentrate on those scoundrels - RIP Mandela, glad you lived to see the change you worked and suffered so hard for!
  21. Cash on collection, free to view, so it dachshund look too dodgy
  22. Cool!
  23. Tidy!
  24. Didn't have much fun today in the winds, fairly big chestnut and ash reductions - although the wind did dry my rope from yesterday's rain!

    Ported 390XP

Glad it doesn't break the bank! I'd like to know how my 395xp would respond to the treatment!
