    Nice pictures this is a big tree in a public area and your asking for someone to take it for free. There is far too much risk involved,you might be lucky and be able to sell the trunk once it has been felled, you should however regard this as a bonus, perhaps post your quote value on here see how reasonable it is

    It depends on your relationship with your dealer no internet dealer is going to help but pay a little more and things happen, I’ve had both stihl and husky battery saws for over a week on demo, and clearing saws from husky echo and stihl. Did I buy clearing saw yes didn’t return the demo unit , battery chainsaw no waiting for new stihl battery then maybe.

    If the council work to the same practise they will have asked them to fill in a diary about the nuisance, you can request to see it if the complaint persists then match with yours they allow for smoke on start up / recharge this is where the diary helps

    A diary of times and dates when lit and recharged would be a good start maybe some pictures of fuel and a record of moisture content. I know it’s a bit of a pain in the arse, I had same problem although I’m not in a smokeless zone, they even sent videos titled log burner up to log burner 5 (the return). The council spoke about burning waste etc showed my records took a while but environmental health sided with me, nothing they could do and l was within the law, they the tried to take out a private prosecution judge chucked it out. The gentleman concerned was a barrister.

    As a sub contractor like you I know how hard it is to make money I believe the post you refer to was my assumption that if you pay £100/ day then you charge £200 for the day, £100 a day is £12.50/hr I made no comment if this is a livable wage
