  1. I have had no problems sharpening mine, the chains don't last as long as a heavier chain, but a couple of brushes with the file & guide & the jobs a goodun.
  2. What a great picture, we should have a tree growing in a tree type of thread,maybe this could be the start of it?
  3. Sounds a fair offer, tell him to jump at it & in time he will have experience, that cant be bought & is very attractive to future employers.
  4. The grub, likely as Graham said, is just breaking down the dead wood, after death of the limbs/ tree from another cause.

This is about all I know: File:Fingringhoe Oak (11978) - geograph.org.uk - 1432690.jpg - Wikimedia Commons A couple of years ago I was involved in removing another smaller oak that had been planted adjacent to the big one some decades ago after a very heavy reduction had led to concerns it would not survive, fortunately this proved not to be the case!
