  1. No ones picking on you , or being sensitive, the fault lay with your comment & nothing else, why not accept that in stead of blaming everyone who read it as it was written.
  2. Sounds like your nearly there mate!
  3. Now here is a good post amongst after some the sarcastic dross preceding it, I am going to give it a go & get some rapeseed oil. Thank you.
  4. It will be good to see how Matilda mk1 goes mate, theres a lot of satisfaction in making stuff like this!
  5. Absolute tosh josh, not much thought in this comment.
  6. If you are passing through that way David, it is well worth a look round, you can get a nice pub lunch in the local too, so it breaks up a trip.
  7. This is about all I know: File:Fingringhoe Oak (11978) - geograph.org.uk - 1432690.jpg - Wikimedia Commons A couple of years ago I was involved in removing another smaller oak that had been planted adjacent to the big one some decades ago after a very heavy reduction had led to concerns it would not survive, fortunately this proved not to be the case!
  8. Thank you, & great work you did! The bike is running great thanks.
  9. You seem to know it better than me!
  10. That is an incredible looking tree David!
  11. Thanks mate, that will be my big wood lunge!
  12. And I did, because it was! So here we go ladies & gentlemen, ( & I use the term loosely), I give you the Fingeringhoe Oak! Bear in mind the bike is 2.5m long, & I stood it about 8m in front of the tree. IMG_1562 by geoff321, on Flickr IMG_1557 by geoff321, on Flickr
  13. A lovely gesture Matthew.
  14. Top stuff Ty!
  15. I understand your frustration in this matter, for some it will be a right pain in the proverbial.
  16. Spot on!
  17. This I find rather amusing, the kit was 'for sale' for a whole 25 minutes, Knee jerk reaction comes to mind!
  18. As Andy says, this can be a very debilitating disease, I was diagnosed with uc 15 years ago, & was due to have surgery to remove a section of my bowel. I struggled with the drugs provided & the side effects they gave. For the last 7 or 8 years I have been drug free 99% of the time, (just once every couple of years I need a short dose of prednisolone). I did not have surgery, I did concentrate on not letting stress get a hold of my life any further than the odd day to day stuff, this seems to have been a great help. You need to find an experienced dietician, & work out what your triggers are,& what you can eat whilst suffering, this can be different for each individual. Beer & dairy are normaly a no no. Try to get some system of relaxation going,& use this to empower yourself against the disease, this might sound daft, but I did this, I got rightfully p*ssed off with the illness & fought it in my head, not the symptoms, but the concept of it. Aloe vera products can be very useful in keeping you healthy, but check with your specialist in what form it can be taken. I found that fruit such as peaches were good, low acid soft fruits, blended & with a bit of natural honey. Avoid large meals, eat little & often, with plenty of fresh water after food. If I can help I am more than happy to, & remember, a percentage of sufferers do manage to get on top of this illness by natural means, with the help of medication from time to time.
  19. Anyway, it is far too great a resource to use in your cs oil tank...it's great for a good old bonfire start, with a few old tyres thrown on.
  20. Waste engine oil is bad stuff, for you & the environment, & should be disposed of in the correct way. Why would you even consider using it?
  21. You would best ask the people who serviced it, but there is not much to these machines, so not much to go wrong. I would check engine oil level, then look at all the ignition system connectors, & check for spark. All being well here look to fuel delivery, you could check this by spilling a half egg cup full of petrol onto the air filter, then try & start it, if it fires up for a bit you got a fuel delivery issue. Cant answer as to whether its the service people who are responsible for costs without knowing what the issue is, ( did they cause it), but you might have fun getting them to admit responsibility.
  22. That's a nice piece, I like it very much. But why chuck it in the stream?
  23. Feel for you & all who new him, a sad loss indeed.
  24. Natural for you to feel like that as a parent, you did ok,the boy is alright, that is what matters here. Have a nice hot & sweet drink of tea or hot chocolate, take a few deep breaths, & get up to bed & give the wife a kiss goodnight. You will be fine in the morning mate.
  25. There is one visible from the A12 near Brentwood Essex, always gives me a grin when I pass it.
