  1. They might give you dispensation if you stipulated thatyou were going to use it to liven up your groundy though..
  2. I totaly agree with you,as I'm sure we all do.
  3. My personal perspective on this would be not to worry about the shrubs in the front patch by the drive, but I would be disgruntled by the boundry & tree removal, especialy without being consulted. If I was selling I would probably aim for a days work & a couple of hundred quid to re plant some small shrubs & flowers to brighten it up. If I was keeping the property,my previous post would stand. Thats just my view on things.
  4. To me that doesn't sound unreasonable, they should have consulted you before cutting,so they are to a great extent at your mercy.
  5. That is the tars condensating out onto the cold chimney, get it lined & insulated & you should be ok.
  6. You will struggle to get like for like, this tree,(Prunus I think),is well established in its location,a wild stab at a cost to get a good sized replacement in,old stump ground etc...£800?
  7. Thanks Woodworks, Certainly a new sound,I like them!
  8. Sitting here with the onset of a heavy cold,& I bumped into this,I found it quite interesting, some of their other stuff is worth a look too. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhgfzEm3CWU]PUBLIC SERVICE BROADCASTING - EVEREST - YouTube[/ame]
  9. The little echo 260 is a great saw,I have had one for a few years, all that has gone wrong was a brake band. But the stihl 150 is in my mind a better saw. The echo brake guard is only fastened at one point,& can be awkward to engage, they cut about the same speed, but I prefer the stihl carving type bar. Both are very good, but I bought the stihl to give it a go,& will stick with it. The Makita is a step down from the echo/stihl,no two ways about it.
  10. I had mine fitted by a timberwolf dealer, the labour was £230.This was this year.
  11. I'm suprised at the weld,not good.
  12. I do find that I have to keep an eye on chain tension.
  13. Another convert to the tiny topper club! They are a refreshing little saw to use Pat,get half a gallon of fuel through it & it gets a bit faster.
  14. Any kit can fail if used in the wrong configuration, some very quickly, some over time,I dont think for one second that Jonsie is 'covering his ass',he would be doing his best as a good dealer to inform us of what the latest advise is,simple fact is do not use this bit of kit, await a response from the manufacturer to filter down,& put the word out there to all climbers,a high percentage dont even know about Arbtalk, that is our job to do,not start slinging mud at a dealer.
  15. I would think about contacting the manufacturer of the balljoint about that, maybe send them the failed part.

    Jokes???

The lone ranger and tonto are riding into town after a long trek, They arrive, and the lone ranger says, " I'm going in the saloon for a pint, I'm parched. Tonto, just run around outside, make yourself look busy, I wont be long" After 5 minutes, a guy walks in, goes up to the bar and says, "scuse me, are you the lone ranger?" He replies, " I sure am, why?" The stranger says, " I think you've left your injun running"

    Jokes???

LR and Tonto riding through the desert. LR stops for a pee behind a cactus, Tonto gets down and sticks his head to the ground, listening. Tonto stands up, folds arms and looks solemn. "What's up?", asks LR. "Buffalo come", says Tonto. LR looks around but sees nothing. "How do you know?", he asks. "Ear sticky" says Tonto...
  18. Thats frightening!
  19. Interesting, have you used the 150t?
  20. It is one cracking saw.
  21. I could give you a hand mate!
  22. Fair comment, the specifics could help,ie can brash stay on site,is the tree diseased, etc, & some pictures would help prospective takers. In general, people want to be paid to remove a tree,no matter if it is standing or down.
  23. Looks like you forgot your helmet, naghty naughty!
  24. I would go for the stihl 150t,the best small topper out there, simples. The echo is good, the makita just about ok. But the best is the 150t.
