  1. Treequip is most likely right, he often is, & I'm thinking you are on the money too.
  2. That's a 101, range rover 4 speed box, permanent 4wd, they would have locked the central diff, dropped the front prop shaft & most likely disabled the rear brakes to do that.
  3. I just had a client phone in a panic, given notice to clear overhanging vegetation to 2.5m height back to boundary over a footpath, seems the user of the footpath can report it to the LA, & they will respond. We all know this, but regarding doing the work yourself I would say you have no right legally,or at least you leave yourself open to litigation should there be a problem with your actions. Yet a lot of 4wd green laners often have work parties to clear green lanes of tree limb obstructions, seemingly with no issues. So my contribution is as clear as mud!
  4. We ought to report these saws on mass to ebay, they are an absolute rip off & it takes but a minute to do, potentially saving someone a lot of heartache, & preventing con artists from easy pickings.
  5. I did the same, & the seller argues the point. Fingers crossed ebay take it down, otherwise some poor person will be out of pocket. Me; This is not a genuine Husqvarna saw, but a fake, & the 395xp is a large pro saw in real form, not designed for hobby use, if you are aware of this fact, (as you now are, can you change the description or I shall report it to ebay & they will remove the listing. Thank you. Seller:I am aware that's why it's listed as a huqvarna partner hobby saw Thanks
  6. Hi there Toby, a big welcome here, I will refrain from advising you on what kit to get as there are others who are far more up to date on what would be best for you, but you are in the right forum to get the advice you need to help you through your time in the trade. When you get to the aches & pains stage in a few decades I for one may be of more help!
  7. Skidmarks in arbkinies should qualify, but only new ones.
  8. Could well be the deep frosts affect them Dean, also it can trap moisture in the topsoil in otherwise well drained soil.
  9. As you know, the clay soil will hold the water up in the topsoil, & in the soil surrounding the roots, in gravel or well drained ground it is less of a problem.
  10. They don do well in overwet conditions,&we have had a lot of rain in the last year or so.
  11. It's just a husky thing, screws fall out of them all the time, these are the test screws, when they fall out the whole saw is about to fall to bits if you don't check every fitting.
  12. That's what we like to see mate, your very good at selling yourself, just be careful she doesn't split the cost & get her coffee mates round!
  13. Superb performance, how did the client respond?
  14. Nice set of pics Chris, I like those Honda step through bikes!
  15. It is a bit soul destroying when you do a good job such as this & get bad feedback, some people hey.
  16. That looks like fun Chris, I did a speedway day thingy at Arena Essex, small oval, but loads of fun, trick is keep it pinned & try to stay on it! 78077301938d4b2a877351831678929a by geoff321, on Flickr 674038ac49244545824b1922955ae653 by geoff321, on Flickr

    Which chainsaw

No! don't do it...get a load of veg oil instead! Oh, & a six pack of stella for me for saving you a load of grief!
  18. Belting little saw these are, every climber should have one!
  19. That saw will get even better after its had a few litres through it, I take the bar off every morning before using mine, & clean the channel & oil holes out, & give the nose sprocket a drop of oil, especialy if its going to cut dead wood or larger pieces, top saw these are!
  20. Hita mate, you have done no wrong, just tried to save the tree, that's all one can do. If the client wants it gone, then that's what will happen unless the LA decides different, I for one take my hat off to you for your efforts.
  21. Scooter parts!
  22. Yes I know the tree well, it would be a great shame if it were to go,but the owner has been after removal for quite a while.
  23. I bet the LA tree officer can, let them know.
  24. I think I know that tree, in the grounds of a thatched cottage if I'm right.
