The extra link is no hassle, rob ships the chains at a very competitive price, and they arive next day, as mine just did, so it is a simple enough conversion, change to a 1/4 sprocket, fit the bar stihl bar and chain, and your done.

Got my chains through from Rob, brilliant service as usual. I was happy enough with the saw running 3/8 chain, but it now is so smooth and fast in the cut it is in a different league, with the Stihl 150 bar. I honestly believe any climber would benefit from this saw with this setup, it takes the fatigue out of the job, and cuts fast.
  3. It's a tough knock mate, had it myself, all you can do is move on and try to stop it happening again, they will be watching your motor.
  4. It's tough loosing your gear, but to be frank, leaving stuff where it's easy to get at is eventually going to result in it going missing, sure we have all done it from time to time.
  5. Interesting article, and great topic Steve.
  6. As above, that's your best place to go.

  10. Or run a decent quality high amp hour deep cycle battery, split charge system on your motor to keep it topped up. It is an inexpensive set up to rig, battery maybe £80, split charge system maybe another £35, that will only charge the aux battery when your truck I'd showing over 13v or so. These charge setups conect direct to the truck battery, not the alternator, so it won't bother your ecu into throwing a code. If your interested I can fetch links to the parts, and give a diagram of wiring, it is very simple, just a big relay, one like your tipping relay, wired in to the truck batt, in cable capable of the charge load, and fused at source, conected to your trailer batt. this relay controlled by a load sensitive relay, which is voltage adjustable , so the system activates when your truck battery is receiving a charge, and is full.

    Again, thank you.
  12. All it takes is one gang to impact a large area, say a 25 mile radius, give of take, and these people tend to be in a position to evade the law often, and accept that they will get caught from time to time. I believe the distribution or exporting of these stolen items is the best target to hit, kill demand and the supply chain will falter. Without doubt the pro thieves are just a link in the system, steeling then selling on to a hub which exports the kit. This is where the money is made, and the nickings by the police, when they get off there arses, stops at the gangs who do the theft, and don't bring down the main issue, the outlets for the kit.

You are in for a pleasant surprise, the saw stands out on its own in use, a great investment for any climber imo.
  18. It's the best way, get the seat out and do this with a good time for the solution to work, with warm water, rinse well and hope for the best, if not, back to plan A..
  19. Why would a note saying side door be left if it had been received and signed for...the courier has messed up, and I would think that this clarified will sort it out, though you may find yourself wading through fools to achieve it, and the seller may well not be interested if they have the money, I would be coercing them nicely to try and get things worked out with the courier, aware that if the detector has gone awol, and it was not insured, there is going to be a victim of this either way.
  20. If you rev a husky flat out for a couple of minutes it will emulate the video:biggrin:
  21. Might work in reverse, another good idea is to show the puppy what he did and pi$$ on him, it's preventative.
  22. We can give words of wisdom mate, but I doubt anyone will listen...heathens all.
