    Tiny echo!

Having used the saw with the 3/8 chain on a couple of reductions, I'm going to leave it as it is, it copes well with it, just need to take a little more care with finishing cuts, keeping the revs high and not weighting the saw. I'm a self confessed echo tart, but this little saw is worth every penny, if your interested in a light powerful saw get to have a go with one, you save so much effort in the tree, and wear and tear on your wrists if like mine they are getting a little worn out.
  2. That's a hard knock, I hope you get sorted asap, better still get the machine back.

    Tiny echo!

Having both saws, I agree with you, this new saw is a leap forward in many respects, there is nothing to touch it at this moment.

    Tiny echo!

I can only imagine how it will cut with the 1/4 inch chain, it's fast enough to impress with the 3/8. As said the option is there for either in the hand book.

    Tiny echo!

I have just taken mine into a tree for the first time, it is a great saw in the hand, very light and small, the stock chain is a little course in the cut, and I agree a smaller chain would be an asset in light pruning work, these light saws struggle to contain the vibes of a heavier chain,as they have not the mass to absorb them. It is more pokey than the 150, probably about the equal of an exhaust model one, with stronger plastics yet being lighter and more compact. The air filter is a work of art, and the handle very ergonomic. I think with the smaller chain on it will be the best small topper out there by some distance.

    Jokes???

George Bush has a heart attack and dies. Obviously he goes to hell, where the devil is waiting for him. 'I'm not sure what to do,' says the devil. 'You're on my list* but I have no room for you.' 'But,' he continues, 'As you definitely have to stay here I'm going to have to let someone else go. I've got three folks here who weren't quite as bad as you. I'll let one of them go, but you have to take their place. I'll even let you decide which one you want.' George thought that sounded pretty good, so he agreed. The devil opened the first room. In it was Margaret Thatcher and a large pool of water. She kept diving in and climbing out, over and over. Such was her fate in hell. 'No!' George said. 'I don't think so. I'm not a good swimmer and I don't think I could do that all day long.' The devil led him to the next room. In it was Tony Blair with a sledge hammer and a room full of rocks. All he did was swing the hammer, time after time. 'No!' commented George. 'I've got this problem with my shoulder. I would be in constant agony if all I could do was break rocks all day.' The devil opened a third door. In it, George saw Bill Clinton lying on the floor with his arms staked over his head, and his legs staked in a spread-eagle pose. Bent over him was Monica Lewinsky, doing what she does best. George Bush looked at this in disbelief for a while and finally said, 'Yeah, Oh yeah boy! I reckon I can sure handle this.' The devil smiled and said; ... ... ... ... ... ... ... * ... ... ... ... ... ... ... * 'OK Monica, you're free to go!'

  10. On thinking I do know a couple of people mate, and will have a natter with them when they answer the phone...
  11. I will see if I can sort a haulier, but if you have someone then I don't mind using them, and could take the lot quite happily, I was thinking the small amount as I could grab that on my truck.
  12. I will take a bout six ton of the ash and birch mate, how much you got?
  13. Good morning, and thank you David.
  14. That's a great idea! But space potatoes. ..
  15. Thanks mate, I have a couple of lathes, I will spin it up and see what I get.
  16. I can't find it listed in this country, I had thought it was available.
  17. That's the name I was looking for...thanks:001_smile:
  18. It does very much resemble that saw, I have both...
  19. Thanks Al, I seem to vaguely remember it having a specific name as it was attached by a small root like structure, as can just about be made out in the pics where the darker wood is, I think David Humfries had one on his desk and was posting about them, but I can't find the thread for looking. I might chuck it on the lathe myself if I can think of a good use, maybe a ball would be fun.
  20. Evening all, I forget the name of these growths that appear on oaks, this one was a good size, I pealed the bark off after letting it season, thought I would show it to you lot.
