You might find a good local arborist climber prepared to clean a path up the tree,I would think a pulley setup for the ascent,set high enough above the seat to allow easy horizontal movement into the seat,with a secondary prussiced system to enable the horizontal move into the seat,not too complicated to do. I would think about the implications of leaving this rig in the tree regards the ropes becoming weathered,and third party interference when you are not there. What area are you in?

I bet the blade sharpen will sort it,if they are BLUNT the rolers will just skip and chew the timber,least ways get the blades sharpened / changed and see how you go. I have seen this with badly dull cutting blades on the tw 125 and 150. If that doesn't sort it change the springs & grease the slider carriage and rolers.

Reakon huck got it right,the winter was hard on some less frost tolerant youg trees.

It is true that many of the traditional and rural jobs have gone to the machine,but there are a lot of jobs that have been created by this massive (in comparison to old times) infrastructure so many live in,modern society/towns. Example,in victorian times they threw their houshold litter & 'night soil' into holes dug for the purpose,or scattered it on the fields.We produce far greater amounts of rubbish,and there is a massive industry in it's disposal & procesing.

Heres a little wingnut,the only one of four we could save,the rest had to be removed as deemed a hazard to playground. had to get this one out of the coms wire,and raise it to keep the kids from playing tarzan,there was a fair bit of dead in this,and I dont think its going to last more than a couple of years,compaction,canker etc.
