  1. Thats a jo bu junior, made in Norway, hence the outboard ability. Made in the 1950's,and about 80cc. The chain runs on a rail & the clutch is manual, working off the big red lever, which also serves as an oil pump once you engage the clutch. The engine unit can swivel so you can cut verticaly or horizontaly,(this keeps the float bowl on the carb upright,as it works a bit like a toilet systern). I picked it up on a job last year for a few quid off the contract, covered in chicken manure.
  2. Heres a few of mine.. The old one can take a shaft that converts it to an outboard boat engine.
  3. geoff

    Canoe cups

Looking very nice there mate, nice figure in the wood too.
  4. Its just a bloody good small saw, narrow, well balanced,& a very perky motor, with a quality feel to it.
  5. Thats a lot better than my efforts at this,& it keeps the tree, be interesting to see the tree's response in a year or so,as it is every limb that's afected
  6. I cant help it:laugh1:
  7. Give it back to him, untouched,& sell him a roll of gaffer tape whilst spouting vitriolic yet praising comments about his ability to become a legend & yet give his saw to a man to fix when it is beyond reasonable repair,or comprehension how such a man of repute could end up with such a knackered tool in the first place:001_rolleyes: Oh & tell him to get off,or nudge him off his precarious perch.
  8. Let us know how you get on with this, could be a few other simple things too.
  9. That has happened Mark, last time was a delivery of well rotted manure,( as per phone conversation),& the next load to be delivered asap..could not find a market for the stuff on that job,but I got paid.
  10. Yep,works for most domestic work, but I have had the ocasional 'try it on' type. In this situation you have choices...talk,walk,or Climb & cut. If the job did not involve a mate of yours it would be so much easier to make a choice, but it sounds like you want to do the right thing without getting mugged,me,I would do it,swallow the loss,& move on to your next contract the wiser:001_smile: On reading other posts by the OP,I might be a bit more inclined to negociate a settlment for works done.
  11. Could be the fuel filter partialy blocked,if it has just been in the cold snap,I would look for water/ice in the fuel system to start with after a filter change.
  12. I think you miss the point Pedroski,If these people (the ones who work the system) had to do work for their money there would be more reason for them to get off their backsides & get a propper paid job,& the fact is the streets etc are not getting cleaned like they were due to cut backs, just like many other areas where maintenance of public buildings/areas is getting no or low maintenance, its all about encouraging people to want to work, rather than think'sod it ,I'm better off on the jam roll,& maybe top it up with a bit of moonlighting/theiving'.
  13. Dont know if the link will work, but a great film imo. BBC iPlayer - The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada
  14. They are all good,mines a td5,but had the 200 & 300. A good 300 might give you 30mpg,200 slightly more,td5 about 29mpg,but if a working arbtruck this will drop int the lowish 20/25mpg.
  15. No change there then!
  16. Poor little mutt,he had a fair old run over there,he was doing frog jumps to negotiate the terain:biggrin:
  17. Heres mine, the back is made of iroco. landy arb tipper by geoff321, on Flickr
  18. Oh but you do get 2 stroke diesel engines, they had them in trucks some years ago,and in large boats too, such as this one,but in a chainsaw,it wont ever happen,I bet my left te?tical on that.. bigengine
  19. Maybe, depends if the support rubbers are the problem,or the steel work of the exhaust itself.
  20. My first call would be to the police,I would not chuck him out to begin with, let the cops give you advise on that, they may want to get him while he is still in there. Dont kick off on him, give the powers that be the oportunity to get him in his nest. People like this cover their tracks & move on.
  21. I'm sure you will be fine,it does take a bit of time for things to settle down, but I bet you will be out there & at it this summer Andy.
  22. Hiya Andy,a few years ago I was rather ill,& it was touch & go as to wether I would have to undergo this surgery,I got lucky & now have good health without having a stoma. A few people I know/met at the time of my illness have had the surgery,& whilst none are arborists, they do sport,& work manualy. I dont see why it should restrict you once you have got into the way of things. Wishing you a speedy & smooth recovery from the surgery,& a bright future in your work.
  23. Thanks, that looks good, was going to 'upgrade' to one of those retractable dog leads, but this is great.
  24. Thats what I have done, works fine,I use a double fishermans as it bites the carabina nicely,& is easy to untie.
