  1. I run this saw,the top handle version too, they are silly light, but a reliable tool, mine have done a couple of years hard work with only one brake band as a spare, not anyway near as fast as say a stihl ms200,(a VERY good saw if you can find one),but for sub 4 inch diameter stuff it will do you well.
  2. Great pics,very interesting & amusing!
  3. Some realy valid points here about getting people out to work & changing the attitudes of those who chose not to work,& the system that encourages/nurtures that mindset. I think the government is too cumbersome to sort it out,and too sensitive to the oposition harking on about 'unfair this & human rights that'. I would love to know what percentage of people get a free roof & ride through life,& how much of our resources are used up to this avail, must be one hell of a drain on the system. There are those who by circumstance cannot find a way to improve their situation, but its all too easy for the freeloaders to hide amongst them, the system is too cumbersome,& these people are actualy quite good at it!
  4. That is a good start, get a length of any rope you have to hand & get them knots so many times you cant forget them, and remember TDS,(tie, dress, set). As in tie the knot, dress it up to make sure it is all correct & tidy, then set it by loading it & removing any slack or bunched parts from the knot. I often practice with small diameter rope from a chandlers, but best off using the rope diameter you intend to use for work,as they have different dress & set characteristics.
  5. Now that looks superb, lovely sorted truck.
  6. Bring it on!! & enjoy it while youve got it...wont be long before you look back, get the odd sleepless night thinking about time gently carving out an old man from a young one, each time the clock ticks... my mirrors are left grubby,me sights shot to bits,& I used to be an adonis..ish:001_rolleyes: Forgot to wind the clock years ago:biggrin:
  7. Go for it mate:biggrin:....you know it makes no sense at all,but might get the ball rolling for a laugh!
  8. The 2oo is a belting little saw,that & a 346xp covers all bases for light stuff.
  9. A soft link is a must on your steel core as said above,I use a grab with soft link,& like the fact that it can be shortened one handed, but a bit more of a pain to lengthen than a friction hitch.
  10. Pics Please!!!! Might not help you feel youthfull again, but a good laugh is mandatory to keep my waistline down at.. Ahem..51!
  11. Give your ideas a go & see where they leed you, maybe a bit of kindling, sell it from home with an honesty box if you are in a suitable location.
  12. Not knocking the after market stuff, but thats one reason I go for genuine ones, the thought of a shattering knife/blade as posted on here in the past does not bear thinking about, much as there other reasons why this can occur. So torque the fasteners down right with a good clean thread, after cleaning the contact areas on the flywheel.
  13. Me, I always go for genuine ones, you can try orange plant too, mine were at a good price,& super delivery.
  14. Garibaldies, double dunked in hot chocolate! Added bonus is that nobody else nicks them....
  15. Realy enjoyed those fells Dadio, great stuff, keep em coming.
  16. Wish you all the luck you can have in getting it back.

  19. Yes,thats another great read, good humour in it too!
  20. Steinbeck's stuff is all a great read, have to agree about the grapes of wrath.
  21. Stihl also make one,I think you will find the chain speed very slow.
  22. Pays to clean the threads up then copper ease the thread & seat of the bolts, but dont spludge the grease down the female threads.
  23. Haha,thanks Alex.
  24. Nice work, what trimmers did you use for this?
  25. I use it in all my hand tools, gets a bit expensive on some jobs, but I cant see me going back to pump fuel.
