  1. I would just do the job, just take care not to damage anything.
  2. Glad you got away relatively unhurt, quick thinking!
  3. Dunno mate, maybe we will get a better understanding when the saws are colected...
  4. If you have a guy in a motor with saws etc in it giving it 'its my brothers kit',a good thinking cop is going to give it a spin, too many reasons not to,& glad they aparently do,could have been anyones kit off of here on its way to a new 'home',& had it been those complaining now would have been jubilant at the efforts of the vigilant cop.
  5. Its a longer version of the 110,similar to the hi cap(a 110, with a 3.5 ton gross weight). The tipping body on mine is about 6foot 4inch by 8foot4inch,and will hold about 4 cubic metres of chip, payload of about 1.4ton. A 110 has a wheelbase of about 110 inches, the 130 is about 130 inches,it makes a fair difference in load distribution in reality.
  6. Its a tough trade to get into from the bottom at the moment,cs30/31 is a start, being legal to tow & drive, with a clean license & maybe some trade related first aid tickets would make you a more interesting prospect to a potential employer. Climbing tickets are a start too,but experience is the key to getting employed,or making a go of it. In your circumstances I would stick with the money earner you have, try & get yourself in with some local arbs for a bit of weekend work helping out,you can learn a lot by just being there,& pick up some money to help with the qualifications,as well as getting yourself known in the right circles. Good luck in it,& if you want it you will find a way.
  7. Fair point, especialy if he is driving in town of a night time, for all the police know they could be stolen goods.
  8. With the 130 its a 3.5 ton motor the same as a transit or similar,so no disadvantages there, you can get a good days work on there if you are doing light work / reductions, but on a decent take down it is limited just like the rest in the weight category.
  9. Same here,I work for several schools,& they just phone when they want small works done,& the area manager calls if its larger works that require undertaking.

    woodturning

Lovely bit of work,I would let the wood speak for itself,it doesn't need and dye.
  11. Get down the police station,or phone them up & get the facts from their perspective, dont blow your top or get shirty, you want your work tools back,& 'unreasonable aproach' wont help you achieve that. I can understand your frustration, but keep the end goal in mind or you will likely get messed about. Good luck & a cool head & you will get it sorted.
  12. My wrong,I'm going for the greenmech cs100,I have sourced one fingers crossed.

    hiya

Hiya Dave, welcome on the forum, you will find pretty much everything arb related on here,(& a few things that arn't!). Its a great resource to any arb person, sure you will enjoy your time here.
  14. Thats where I'm heading now, might have sourced one with a bit of luck too, happy days!
  15. Nice one Andy,I got a good bit of info off these threads!
  16. I'm after a second hand good tp100 or m300 myself now, prefering the tp100,just got to hunt one down.
  17. Thanks Steven& all for the replies, got to find one now.
  18. So is yours a greenmech then Steven? Im bouncing between the gm & jobeau now! Also, anyone know of a good dealer in these things?
  19. Hi Steven,I want one for a bit of back garden work, and to be able to tow a trailer with other kit,( cherry picker, stump grinder etc),and to still be able to chip sub 3 inch prunings, either from the trailer into the truck,or on site. So the flexibility that a portable one will give me. I,m also getting quite a few 'limb drop'type jobs & fancy a bit of lightweight kit to deal with the brash,& keep the wood for logs.
  20. So does it fit up the stairs,or is it strictly a bungalow job?
  21. My saws get a light chain & padlock through the handles on site, they cant pick them all up in one hit so easy,& the lock is a combination one with the first four numbers of my phone no. so everyone on site knows it,saves on key problems.
  22. Its the one I am sort of focusing on at the moment (the m300),but still open to sugestion, want to get it right,& may look second hand so I can shift it on if I dont get on with the practicalities, either that or try to hire one for a few jobs to get the jist of things. Thanks for all the replies so far!
  23. Gloria...hmm,whats her specification mate? & dont worry about Felix,he aint fussy!
  24. So whats the jobeau m 200 or 300 like,I want light but good!
  25. Hiya all,I,m in the market for a little chipper for those small jobs,& to get into back gardens, now I,m not very well up on them,it will want to be able to do a bit of the dreaded leylandi, but mainly general light prunings,& be manouverable by hand, what are the best & proven ones to get,and any rough idea of cost, idealy I would want one that can fire the chip out of a top funnel. Any tips welcome from those that have one please. Thanks in advance,& I would consider a second hand one in very good nick if its the right machine.
