  3. well done mate. I am sure you will find someone through Arbtalk sooner or later.
  4. Far too much machismo and testosterone for a not very tough mudda like me, but I wish you all the best mate....you mad mudda!
  5. Sounds like you have just about run it in....My last hilux I bought with over 300k on the clock and the engine was as sweet as a nut..........the rest of it was a bit rough and i bent it, but the engine was still fine.
  6. Haha I reckon we must have had a van load just of the cones off it!! The wood is loveley and chewy, very forgiving.
  7. Enjoyed that. Thanks for posting.
  8. No- he abuses himself too much so is a bit blind:lol: Actually we were TRYING to look something like professionals as the whole village was watching as we were in a very prominent posn on the side of the hill...
  9. If i didnt have olly i would love to come and work for you MAtt. Last week (1/2 term) i would have been up like a shot. Good luck finding somebody.
  10. Luckily for us all the timber stayed on site. originally it was going to be leave some smaller stuff and take the rest......the site was a nightmare- steep terraced garden. Getting all the big stuff out would have been a total PITA.
  11. He did- Chris (the one tending the lowering bollard in one of the pics) is uber employee though, so between him and Big T they coped very very well.
  12. Get a 460 Anthony (or husky equivalent if you prefer). YOu DEFINITELY need a bigger saw- it was almost painful hearing your 260 being beasted on that macrocarpa last week lol!
  13. Got sent a few more pics today....
  14. Last week my mate went to france with a 130 and trailer and brought a holder back. No questions asked by anyone anywhere. He simply drove through.
  15. AFAIK there is nought wrong with Fram. I understood them to be one of the leading manufacturers of filters?
  16. Lovely piece of turning work though BTW.
  17. I would have said you needed to wait a touch longer Bob. Its not the heat of your house but the moisture content of the air, which wil be between 8-12%, whereas the driest outside air in the uk would be about 20. So even in cooler areas of your house there is a sudden change in M.C leading to cracking. Possibly. Plus you have released alot of tension in the wood very quickly so all in all it would be struggling NOt to crack. Or i could be totally wrong. I usually am haha.

    Old Holly

    Fascinating stuff. Great post.
  19. Very nice timber Bob. Polishes to a fine finish and takes stain well if required. When larger often has a beautiful dark heart to it.
  20. Sorry mate- I have playstations so cant help you there.
