  1. All of them basically, other than the hazel obviously. Sweet chestnut was, according to Ben Law, recognized finally as a timber that can be used structurally, as long as it doent have a corkscrew to it, which leads to a short weak grain. Oak and chestnut dont rot, ash does but is incredibly strong, and beech does very fast, so is only good for indoor use and not a structural timber- use it for flooring, window ledges etc etc. Oak will go for everything. Happy milling and building.
  2. Good god- its you!!! Bloody townies hahahaha. Watch this space- ill be intouch when i get my grubby mitts on them.....
  3. i have some nice burr oak coming soon, and quite a bit of cherry in the pipeline if you are interested, only i dont actually know who u are as you seem unable or unwilling to say,so it will probably go for logs.

  6. Superwich are very very helpful. As above, they will send out a full manual if you ask. My mate has just sent one to them for reconditioning, and it has come back looking like new, with a new drum, gears, bolts, seals and repainted, all for about £500! Incredible!
  7. I can say that having dealt with Gibbon and seen his team in action, this would be an excellent opportunity!
  8. I think the shafting fouls on the engine and is therefore different for a Td5 IIRC.
  9. OMG thats nice.....beats a mizer hands down. (But then again IMO thats not hard lol) But that is a SEXY mill!
  10. Thats that little so and so that came on here with all those lies about owning a timber trailer a while back. His tree surgery website also contains heaps of pics that are nothing to do with him, he claims to be ISA certified, but the ias have never heard of him, and loads of other stuff. I have yet to hear a single good thing about him to allay the mountains of terrible stuff.
  11. I pay 450 ish with trust for 110 tipper. Full NCD and im 38. Flux were a waste of time TBH. Their idea of modified seemed to be with all the off road bits bolted on for the townies, not a work truck.
  12. OMG the face in picture two!!!! Stunning bowl.
  13. Crackimg machines, sold mine this year, but was excellent. Was supplying alot of larch and the reports were coming back that another 2 suppliers who had woodmizers couldnt some close to the accuracy I was producing. 20. HAd a 625i for years- put a much bigger 30hp deutz diesel on it, and it was a monster! i have a 935i now, also a very good but heavy machine. I rate vermeer over most others.
  21. South Devon is quite vague, could you narrow it down as its a big county lol, or do you cover all of southern Devon.
  22. I have a large beech to take down near Tavistock at some point in the future, and half the wood will be available for sale. Access is easy, please get in touch here or on 07875046748 if you would be interested. Thanks, Tom.
  23. The t540 is a fantastic little machine. I had the opportunity to use one for a while, and it is FAR better than the new offering from stihl, and quite a bit better than the 200t IMO. Balance is superb, even with a 14" bar, and the power is amazing, much more than the 200t. What i liked the most was the ergonomically designed handle. The tiny little bit of shaping (and 3 inserts are supplied for different hand sizes) made it really easy for me to handle with my faurly knackered elbows. Great little machine IMO.
