  1. bit of a long shot but does any body have large logging arch or other device for shifting some 3m lengths of cherry/beech/douglas fir. Can drive up to timber with L200 pick-up but dont want to drag it along the stone track - need to avoid damaging track and the timber. Woodland situated near Ruthin, North Wales Willing to travel to collect for borrowing/hiring in next couple of weeks Only need it for a few days Would consider buying 2nd hand if available cheers Dave

  6. 20-25 cube/year for rayburn and logburner doing all cooking, hot water and central heating (10 rads) in a 4 bed semi

what kiln set-up do you have?
  13. I have 6 customers requiring 6" logs, charge £115/cubic metre, they each buy 2 cubes a year, nobody else local will do any logs less than 10" so I'm quite happy to cut them small. Easy enough when cutting from billets on a Hakki Pilke Eagle saw
  14. I am trying to find details of hauliers to move 10-15T timber from Ruthin to Nantwich (45 miles). Could be several loads. Access in to woods is on good stone track but probably not suitable for artic.
  15. some for sale here Woodands For Sale South East England
  16. £115 per cubic metre this year
  17. Best stuff to use is P20, apply once a day and it does the trick all day
  18. I supply logs to a customer with a mobile wood fired pizza oven. Any dry seasoned hardwood is fine so long as it is split fairly thin. The pizzas arent in the oven for very long so you are very unlikely to affect the flavour of the pizza with different species of wood. At the end of the she throws a few logs in the oven as it is cooling down and uses them to start it next time round
  19. Bought a pair of Meindl's from FRJones a couple weeks ago for ground work. Very Comfy boots for all day use on the ground. Have had meindl walking boots as well and wouldn't look any further.
  20. What about harvester, whole tree chipper, biomass?
  21. You'd have to check with some body from DARDNI, but rthis link says new forestry act came in to operation in march 2013 with felling licences to be introduced in June! Better get your skates on! Forestry Act | Northern Ireland Forest Service | Department of Agriculture and Rural Development
  22. you may need felling licence http://www.legislation.gov.uk/nia/2010/10/section/15
  23. This is our standard store, all tanalised wood, felt roof, hold just over 2 cubic metres logs (10 barrow bags). £220 including local delivery and installation. Have made a few modifications since this picture was taken. Now includes a divder so one half can be refilled without having to completely empty the store
  24. Increase from £110 to £115 per cubic metre for dry seasoned hardwood delivered 5 miles
  25. Several developments in pipeline in south cheshire from 12 units to 1000+ units, from what I understand land value is about £1,000,000 per acre!
