Is any one experiencing long delays getting spares/parts from Husqvarna? What is normal lead times? I have a 560xp requiring a new piston, local dealer has had the saw about 5 weeks now and still waiting for the part.

I have a piece of apple just over 7ft long and 13" down to 8" diameter. Has anybody milled any apple? if so is it useful for anything in particular? We have a logosol M7 to mill it on

I am using my 660 for logging oversize timber for firewood. What is the preferred sprocket to use? Using a 25" bar with oregon 75LPX chain. Thank you

Probably get no more than 10 enquiries a year for splitting logs and end up doing most of them at those prices. Just adds a bit more income to the business. Last job was chainsawing and splitting about 10T mixed hard and soft wood from 6" to 24" diameter

13T petrol road-towable splitter with one operator is £30 per hour with a minimum charge of 4 hours (£120) 8 hour day is £240 of which £140 is for the operator and £100 machine hire

<p>I am based just north of nantwich - about 30 mins from wrexham - and have a mixture of ash, alder, cherry, oak and eucalyptus in various sizes from 6" diameter to 18" diameter and all in various lengths/rings. You are welcome to come over and take a look. should also be getting some beech in soon as well</p>

Ask around and see where other people get their logs from, and whether they are happy with what they get. Personal recommendation is best

15T at £50 per tonne is £750 I would only ever offer £50 -£100 for atree like that. Quite a lot of work to get it back to a yard for turning in to logs

so what you are saying is you deliver logs at £110 for 1.8cubic metres and you dont actually break even. breaking even can also be acheived by staying at home all day!

just offer him some cash (say £100 to start) and see what response is like. Be prapared to negotiate though and explain how much you could it delivered in for and how much work is involved dismantling and moving it

I want to relocate my container from one yard to another on the same farm. Space is too tight for a telehandler so I am looking for a lorry with hiab that can lift it out, drive it about 100 yards and lower it in to new position. Location is south cheshire Any recommendations much appreciated

Views on best 4x4 for delivering ton bags of logs

We use barrow bags and can get 5x 0.2 cubic metre bags on back of L200 double cab with tail gate up. Dead easy to drag off and wheel them close to log shed or in to garages etc
