  1. Hello people, just got back from a 3 week trip to France. Holiday of a lifetime and well deserved Found this little Gem outside a museum in Tours, France. Can translate if you wish but think it's pretty self explanatory, big and old. Pity, they said I coul'nt climb it though! Is anyone on Arbtalk curently working in France, as am thinking of moving there?
  2. Where do you get your bags from?
  3. Looking good Bart. E When's Tatton?
  4. Like the shell:w00t:
  5. Sorry your Lordship!!!!! Ha ha
  6. I sell it by the cube metre. £70.00 a cube delivered. I stick to this price and get ready customers. Others have undercut me however, (nobody on arbtalk) but customers came back to me after they found the wood was crap/unseasoned. To me, if you have sufficient storage you can basically call it a long term investment. Unless you really need the cash, wait for your local prices to increase and sell then. If I get stuck for income I can therefore drop prices accordingly.
  7. Have had similar problems with one in my area. Has changed his name to one that is similar to mine which has confused quite a lot of people. I have quoted then they have lost my card / number etc. They have then looked up said 'tree surgeon' in the yellow pages/thompson local and called the wrong company. To my disbelief, aleged however as I cannot prove it as customer did not want to name and shame, they asked for me by name. Were told I was not available so they would send one of my 'operatives' down. Did the work I quoted for and took the job. Can't do a thing about it without proper evidence. Every dog has his day however. Am watching him like a hawk.
  8. Congratulations to you and your wife. Enjoy this peaceful quiet time and look forward to an even rewarding time.:001_cool:

  14. Duty of care lies with the landowner. His/her choice - Snooze sometimes you loose, big time, long as you have advised you are in the clear.
  15. Sorry to hear about that, Hope the photo below cheers you up, these are my chicks.
  16. Good video john. Have always wanted to do a few straight fells. Not many asked for up here unfortunately.
  17. Keep active and get out as much as possible. Speedy recovery essential for mind and body.
  18. Good start, try cherry wood. Have a go atfinishing off with a sander
  19. Move to the Dordogne in France, buy an Oak wood that I saw for sale, about 80 Hectares and play!
  20. Gardening work, like has been said before, they have called a professional Tree Surgeon! My quote is £50.00 an hour/ £400 a day. They can take it or leave it. But as Dean said, they get a job done properly and garden left as if you had not been in their garden. If they cannot do it then they have to pay for it. My only exception to this charge is when I get a pensioner who is obviously struggling financially and wiil:laugh1: do a value deal for them. I've found that by this I get a whole lot more pensioner work as they recommend you. Never knowingly ripped anyone off in 4 years and proud of it!
  21. A real Pro, you've obviously trained him very well. Good slide show.
  22. Highways order has priority over TPO. That's legal. As long as you have the notice from Highways you are in the clear.
  23. Now I know why you don't like working in the rain!
  24. Will look forward to seeing the photos.
