  1. I must have a double. As I said, have a son who is the spitting image of me (25) I am 49, still look 25 ha ha also have a cousin my age who also looks similar a Colonel I believe? Tim has been upgrading my climbing and also climbing on difficult jobs. Jamie, another ex army guy and excellent climber has a lot of respect from me. He recently took on a contract that I was not ticketed for and did an excellent job. Are you going to Tatton on Monday? We should meet
  2. It's great when you can have a joke and not upset members. Personally, with the amount of vino and brandy consumed to keep the extracted tooth pain away, am surprised I've not balls up spelling yet.Hey hey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Looks like I'm not the only bleeder today. Great pics
  4. Sorry Dave, could not resist, What is funning?
  5. Where exactly are you based Sherlock?
  6. SWB are you on the right thread? Thought you may have mistook this one for the FEELING thread???????????????
  7. Did a few jobs near there a few months ago, nice area
  8. Now do NOT forget the camera, we are all dying to see the job!
  9. Do you know now who I am after your investigative questions on Tim Hammond, Neil and Sharon Ha ha. Do you also know Jamie?
  10. :BoomSmilie_anim:Tranny. Use the L200 as I travel off road a lot! Everyone has a choice.
  11. Also, if you look at the advertisements on this screen, you should see one for Jo Beau.
  12. Think a call to your local Business Link might be a start, Oh, and speak to your insurance company, as you will not be covered for working abroad on your present policy.
  13. Who are Constructionline Buzz?
  14. Did the deal with Chelford Farm Supplies Cheshire. Investec Asset Finance, Abingdon Oxfordshire 01235 555577. They buy the chipper and Contract lease it back to you for 5 year lease. It costs me £83.99 plus vat a month, that's £21.00 per week, that's £3.00 a day!
  15. Just got off the phone from a very nice Tree Officer who made the effort to compliment me on my professional work attitude. A client had rang, stating that he had a 6' branch, 6" diameter, sticking out of a large Sycamore Tree with a TPO. The gusts last week had snapped said branch and it was looking awful. Could I come over and have a look? He stated that he had spoken to the Council and they said it was ok to have the work done. Did they have it in writing I asked, no was the reply, so I duly checked, cannot afford any bad publicity or fine and was informed it was ok. The client then told me he had had a quote for £400.00 to remove the branch!! Shame on you whoever you are, no names will be mentioned. Accessed tree carefully with climbing line. Positioned myself for 3 small cuts and tidied up. 25 mins work. I quoted him £80.00 as I had travelled 20 miles on the recommendation of his friend. Client gave me £100.00:thumbup: The officer has been roud today to check that I had done the work and has recommended further deadwooding work on tree would be appropriate. Things nearly always come up trumps when you are honest!!!!!!!!
  16. I used fairy liquid but will try the baby shampoo method. Not sure my wife will believe me when I ask her to put it on the shopping list. By the way, great hats you sent, cheers.
  17. If it's a decent earn. Get a lawyer, draw up a contract, and agree bank transfer of funds into lawyers account. If not, walk away. Not worth the risk
  18. I use an L200 Warrior and a tipping Humbaur trailer. Stick a Jo Beau M300 chipper on the back and have never looked back. I pay 80 quid a month for a brand new Jo Beau, it takes 3inch and everything else is logs, don't chip it if you can sell it as logs 3 months later. The logs pay for the chipper. Work it out. The trailer, I saved and saved until I could get one. Started off with a second hand williams trailer with greedy boards, but you get knackered shovelling off woodchip at the end of the day. Start small, save, invest in the best you can afford and get something better when you have the money.
  19. That's going to be a nice round crown.Like it:001_smile:
  20. Seriously though. If you have not got the experience to come up with a quote, then as someone like yourself who is on a learning curve, and very steep it will get, I would let the 'client' make you an offer. Tell him your experience to date, be truthful. you may even get the job and a decent wedge!
  21. And how you are feeling!!
  22. Have you considered using a Zip line?
  23. Good point, I believe experience is far more important, but tickets seem to dictate. Most of the groundworkers I have had on a part-time basis have a lot more experience than those who say they are qualified. Not being negative, and think we have had a thread on this issue recently. Good luck Maggie on your search.
  24. Where was the job?
  25. What sort of lottery money are we talking then?
