  1. Yes, you know what I meant to say.Was just getting dragged down by negative comments.
  2. Totally agree
  3. IT's ALL ash! Do not see a problem with calling it seasoned after 3 months as it IS down to 20 % dry. Don't know what all the fuss is about and YES I do tell the customer exactly what they are buying and how long and where it has been dried.
  4. Totally agree with that
  5. Oxford Dictionary Professional Expert, specialised, qualified, proficient, skilled, trained, practised and certified. I am certainly some of these but not all:thumbup1:
  6. Great idea will be trying to make one this week.
  7. It's split and stacked indoors as soon as it reaches the yard. So.. yes it's dry.
  8. Good for you!
  9. Doing ok here in cheshire!! Am getting close to emptying my dry seasoned log store. Have the same amount again, but only 3 months dry. However, they ARE dry and will burn. Do a burn test at home on these and the product is dry. ALWAYS tell your customer what they are getting and you cannot go wrong. Have a waiting list at mo. Merry Christmas logs!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. John that's made our day superb:biggrin:
  11. Is that lovely Beech? I'm close to running out of 12 month seasoned. Got a whole lot of 3/4 months drying as we speak. Have told all my clients and they are happy to take it. I must be charging too little?
  12. My Haix Protectors are brilliant!! Not sure about the colours but would give them a trial?
  13. I've done the opposite. Quoted 2 'large oaks' in july. Quite a lot of money. Client asked me back to have another look. The job's yours he said, then I looked at the trees with no leaves. God they look small. He wanted a large pine out so I said I'd do that for free. Fell better and right about the job now
  14. Back to the thread, I would have said £160.00 Have just told all my customers that my loads are going up to £80.00 a cube as from 1st of January 2010. No-one has complained!!
  15. Andy, we need to talk. Next time you take some ash trees out give me a call.I'd gladly make you a csh offer for the wood........or a crate of wine? John
  16. Cheers justin and Merry Christmas!
  17. What motivates me? Pushing my skill level everytime. Can I do this job? Yes, but there's always something to learn. And of course the knowledge that every day is completely different.
  18. What you do with your kids is your matter. You worry too much! My children grew up knowing they can do and play no matter what. If dad's away they still knew he loved them. As you have said on many occasions, life is too short, enjoy every moment with your children but don't spoil it by worrying about what if's........... does that make sense?
  19. Sorry Andy, not been on for a while, had the man flu. Am using a ms200t the rest are huskys. 357xp and 362xp. Was thinking about a bigger saw and Dan said he thought you have one for sale.
