  1. I agree with steve, I try and get all my log deliveries down to a couple of days a month this time of year as I get a couple of school lads to give a hand loading and unloading, makes it a bit more profitable than having the tree team do it.

  5. I use BFG AT had them last winter and really good at driving in snow and ice and they last alot longer than MT.

I was never allowed to work with father for BBBW reasons but now my old man works for me, it's a good working relationship he gets to stay on the tools part time whilst having all the benefits of being retired and not to worry about running a business. Already thinking about getting my daughter climbing when she is old enough though.
  7. The Ranger does have the turning circle of the moon, but my driving isn't ledgenary.

  10. if you need to make up weight then i found ballast in double lined sandwich bags helps as you can fill up the bergan's pockets and it moves arround your body better whilst your wearing the pack also start wearing your pack every where and you'll be supprised how you build up and hopefully it will be easier to carry on the day (btw dont start at 60 just build it up over time).
  11. It's not earning it's turnover for VAT, you can reg if you want any time but only really pays when your only doing firewood. Just get a good accountant and your there.
  12. Moved all kit indoors, It goes front door, dog, me, shotgun then chainsaws if your willing to try and get past the first four then you need them more than i do.

  15. This is my usual set up now, hitch climber with destil, cambuim saver with pully and sling for quick ascent.
  16. I am with you, raced a mate down a steep hill on same bikes he weighs about 4 stone less than me but i out paced him. Well done on round the world using cycle power ,beats anything to see places and take in different cultures.

We will always end up doing stuff we know is not right (we all have bills to pay) I have found jobs like this you need to cover yourself and get it down on paper and signed by both partys with alot of pics to go with it, always makes it easier to get paid when the client realises what a mistake they have made (not good info you know though but learnt the same way you have the question is do will you spend more time and money chaseing this up or save hassel and learn from it)
  20. rachet straps, jump leads, wet wipes, helmet and lowering kit never leave the truck.
