  1. I have off road tyres on my 190 they make a lot of noise and are made redundant by lack of locking diff and abs on the down hill but work well on grass areas will find out who makes them tomorrow if you want. If you go down the winch option I have a mount plate you can have as removed mine as part of a weight saving project and found it easier to be towed when stuck. Hopes this helps.
  2. Just about to trade in 250 for 261 in next couple days had a 390 and I thought it was about same as 250 just a lot heavier.
  3. It has just gone up to ;£20 now thinking about dropping it as 660 goes through a bit but it is good stuff.
  4. Looking for either 300m deep 600m wide ish to make coffee table. Cheers Sam
  5. I have some lengths of oak available also some birch and ash. Want to know if interested and will be road side prices.
  6. Is the new vent the one with own clear visor and torch clip?
  7. I'm getting names first then decide as group where is best for all of us to travel.
  8. Been in contact with btc and can offer the course for £100 per person which includes lantra cert work books and other btc publications. For this price we would have to bring own food and sort out venue (which is easy) and secure 20 places. I think this is generous for what is a charity and hope we can get numbers to come. Please message here if your interested and we'll keep the course in somerset inless there is more call to it be held else where. Sam
  9. I have been owner of quite a few axes. Yes it is nice to own shiny ones but I found the wooden ones have a short shelf life and avoid ones with birds beak they only get stuck. I have since given up on hand logging and given all my axes away to family, the only one I have kept was a cheap in branded nylon handled one wich was 30 squid and seem to run rings around all my other professional ones.I think it is all down to how you operate because each one is completely different so will always be how it feels not what it costs.
  10. Well why we don't email company saying yes we have enough to do course but at 100 squid each save the course ah sod it ill tell them myself least well get the .numbers.
  11. Left hand bar on link given on first thread, assuming I have read it right apologies if I hadn't. If this course was a starting point for survey ticket like tree surveys then would be well up for it.
  12. Looked on web site and bat survey course (trees) was 160 but pre requisite course ( bats and bat surveys) was 580
  13. I looked at this before and still put of by price good for personal regions but to get right tickets for bat survey is about 700 squid I'm sure they would have no prob filling spaces at 100 squid a time.
  14. Bit of a trek from here but if you had few days I gave family down your way I visit.
  15. For basic reading try the backyard lumberjack and the manual of wood decay in trees.
  16. A cargo ship used around the 1900s going from port to port picking up delivery work and odd passengers, no set route just go where job takes you.
  17. I have a shop that keeps me going through quite periods and actually considering getting a tramp steamer.
  18. Look at us internshipsthey are mostly un paid. If I could work with someone and learn a new skill i can charge for in the future then would do it for free.
  19. Hi where about are you? They may be a few members on here that will pop and have a look for you. I would say that kind of root damage the tree won't be able to recoverand poses a danger and should be dealt with by neighbour at his cost if in doubt contact local TO and he will let you know everything.
  20. I liked my ranger but was trying to much to be a car so was let down on serious off road jobs, also thought of converting to tipper but was put of by what I could carry. Hilux have been fantastic off road and seem to be able to carry loads better but carry a premium on price. So muck so that 00 one is only worth 3k less than 58 one. All depends on what you need from a teuck, if it us to only ferry about tools and men then do for Nissan if not go through exactly what you need to carry or pull then find the truck that suits you.
  21. Had problem with my ranger to much info to put In thread.
  22. Yes needs a new one. Also the clutch ain't that great on them so treat it as so and use lr if you need to reverse trailer. Sam
