  1. I always found phone lines quite flexable so try and move it or tie it back.
  2. Agreed, Undermines what we are do for a living, If i knew it was this easy I wouldn't of wasted years training.
  3. Welcome to Arbtalk and best place to start with RFS L2, a good basic knowledge is always a better start than the ability to climb a tree, good luck on a future in trees.

    set up

Can't wait to see it in winter but good set up, wish my yard was like that and had that view.
  5. Just a couple; Anyone who says he can see through women is missing a lot. Behind every successful man is a woman, behind her is his wife. Getting older is no problem. You just have to live long enough. No man goes before his time - unless the boss leaves early.
  6. Nice one Jon, Just strarted using it and can reccomend it.
  7. Fantastic. Makes you wonder what we are capable of ( and by we i dont mean me but other more awsome people)

  11. What he said... I would love to charge more but the market wont allow it down here and i would rather sell it than let it rot in the yard.
  12. It has the hallmarks of an Oregon Ash.
  13. lol i was expecting tales of transit mishaps. on another note wheres the pictures?
  14. |Ha ha ha why didnt we both say that and be done with it lol.
  15. This is true but i hire sub contractors as skilled workers able to work of their own back and lead teams and to hire a non skilled sub contractor would make my company un profitable and take on unskilled labor over a certain amount of hours per week makes sense to take them on paye anyway.
  16. Yeh my premiums have leveled out but they got me on the pl for sub-contractors (btw i use the subbies and freelancers in the same context sorry for confusion) and yes they seem to keep the insurance compnays profits up but i know one day i may need it and hopefully get back what i have put in the pot lol/.
  17. i went over threshhold and accountant worked out that it would be in best interest to carry it back as set up cost alot and income was low but yes i did mean turnover as apposed to profit (thanks for pointing that out) and other company was in no relation to other company and was under theshhold so was volentered to best suit the business
  18. I had a good run for first year of trading then started doubting myslef when i didn't get every job as i never made a big thing about pricing to under cut but talking to others i was very lucky but still felt annoyed that i put so much effort in and then lost it, but that is life.
  19. P/L doesn't cover subbies but you can get extra cover (which is worth it). And as rupe says it is down to the owner of the company if he/she hires someone who isnt up to the job the should lay on his sholders. on the other hand the problem is when other elements are in case and your insurance doesn't cover subbies and someone drives through traffic lights and gets hit by a falling branch or this is the first time you have taken someone on through list of tickets and experiance so it is hard to tell but accidents do happen. And subbies pl isnt much to fork out and always look good i think as it shows contractors that you care about what might happen.
  20. Hi, I have just set up a ltd company and it is 6 months set back without any amount being paid as income vat (but wasnt high income/profit). Older company i got two years but had to pay vat on income but i made some big expenditure so worked out in my favor. Also looked at de reg when i dipped under thresh hold but everything had to be valued and vat would of had to be paid on the whole amount.
  21. I see your point and have seen people do that before, but insuring your self against misshaps that maybe a result of your work work not the companys is always a good idea because the contractor will always look at you if you messed up and things can get very expensivee also the company will tell the company it is your fault and to persure you (i do not do this myself btw).
  22. Yes you can claim everything back for last two year but you will also be charged on everything you made for last two years, also buying stuff on vat reg then un reg you have to pay vat on what the equipment is worth when you un reg. in your possition i would only reg for vat if 60% of your sales are fire wood and you have spent over 20k setting up business.
  23. Good job mate, just missed one branch though.
