  1. im really sorry guys im still trying to get the pictures from the groundy that prommised me he would bring them in on tues (and im still waiting ) i was chatting to another tree surgeon yesterday that worked on it in the early 90's and he was saying that it had the biggest crown spread on a monterey pine in england and norther europe but i have not yet found anything to prove or dis prove his statement . i will have the pictures up by the end of the week guys , once again sorry . Dave
  2. i have used both i would say the 150 will fill your chip box in less time as the feed rolers are a little faster and the mas of a 6 inch piece of timber is greater than that of a 4 inch piece of timber . personally i would have the 125 for domestic as its light , easy to move round by hand and you dont always need a bigger chipper but for the commercial side of things i will stick with my tw190 (sadly its not a turbo but on the bright side it does not drink fuel like a turbo . but that is only my personal oppinion
  3. i must admit i did have a look at the M.E.W.P.S at the show !

  11. get a conversion for your helmet that will carry 2 beer cans , when they are empty throw them away and get 2 more ice cold beers lol jokes
  12. what can a say bob it was too big for me i thought it was more your kind of job , specially with a toy fire engine !!
  13. i have seen guys that can climb quickly and work to a high standard , i have also seen guys climb slowly and make a right mess of a tree , i think a climber needs to work at his/ her pace without rushing but most of all the climber needs to work as part of a team with the ground staff . but this is only my oppinion what gets me are the feally fast climbers that fush everything , make a mess and leave the tree in worse condition than when they started but they still feel that they are tha mutts nuts ,
  14. i have said to the chaps that work with me to take a break when they need it and i try to take extra water with me to make sure no one goes thirsty every day last week and today i got my other half to bring out some ice creams for everyone half ay through the afternoon , its only fair to reward them for working hard in such hot weather .

  19. hmmm ive not heard of a t425 how long has it been out , anyone got any pics and info etc ??
  20. kolbre/ skylotec harness ,marlow chamelion 35 meter or salamander 45 meter rope , 3 meter strop , stien cambium saver , art rope guied , as for the rest it depends on the climb and what i will be doing to the tree and what i fancy using at the time , may be a lock jack sport swivel may be use the hitcher or just a plane old distel .
  21. looks great mate looks like alot of time and effort went itno making it , im also glad it was not me that had to pay for it !!!
  22. i think it was a case that the tre was not to big and 60 -80 ton crane not to small , it may have been that the section of tre that was cut had swung out of the cranes lift radius and pulled it over , the only reason i say that is because it happened in wales a couple years ago to an ainscough crane
  23. wow i wonder what my £50 note without the queens head on it is worth then ? i bought it for a new 20p lol jokes
  24. we use bio oil but have not looked int bio fuel yet , i expect it will be something that takes a bit of time before its an option down in cornwall but i will not rule it out in the future
