  1. nice pictues , i could not see the bee's nest but im sure the climber that has to work on the tree will !!!
  2. i have asked my self the same question , i was looking at one in a place called helston near me the other day . in my mind 22k = mog and maybe a chipper
  3. i have done one job for an old lady next door to where we were working at the end of the day for a glass of squash lol but normally tend to charger betwene 40 and 50 quid , but recently have been wondering if a should charge hourly
  4. personaly i would rather leave the stump and take what im owed for the rest of the job , at least that way they guy does not get any more reason not to pay pluss you have a good reason not to grind it ! at least this way if he does decide not to pay you have not done anything wrong or caused any dammage .
  5. nice , i cant decide on weather to have a full lenght roof a three quater length roof or thay with a 4 foot roof , the tipper is nearly 9 foot i think , at the moment wh have a chip box that we can move ie when we are on small jobs the box goes to the back so that the sides are level the back of the tipper that way we have room to put the climbing gear etc on the front of the tipper by the cab meaning we only take on truck .
  6. all good points there , i was thinking of fitting new roof on to my chip box thats hinged at the front with gas struts on eack rear corner so that i can lift it up when chipping as i find on windy days the chip goes everywhere but in the end i felt it was way to much trouble .
  7. one of the saws is nearly 2 years old the other is about 9 months old and both have the same carb i would give husky a call and talk to the tecnical dept give them the serial number and they will tell you exactly bob , the only draw back is that the carb has to be ordered by a husky dealer
  8. can seem to get on to that link for some reason , what is it then ??
  9. for the roof i would use 3mm chequer plate and mount it on an angle so that the watter will run off down betwene the tipper and tha cab and it also helps a bit chip into !
  10. thanks bob i didnt realise there was such a think but i have posted a thread so with a bit of luck i will be able to get it fixed . many thanks again
  11. whilst working on friday i noticed that the bottom feed roler had dropped down approximatley 1/2 inch so today i had a further look into it , i hook the hopper of and stripped the the hydraulic motor off of the bottom feed roler and taken the bottom feedroler plate off of the other side i then took the 3 bolts the apeared to be holding the bearing and feed roler together but can not seem to get the feed roler out or the bearing . i would of had a look in the user manual however that was lent to a fellow tree surgeon and he lost it also i have noticed that on the hydraulic motor side the bottom feed roler looks to have cut a clearence into the side plate of the feed roler housing . Does this also need replacing ?? your advice would be really appreciated as im right down in cornwall with no nearby dealers ! Many thanks Dave.
  12. i think i am going to have to hire one in sadly as we have to clear up a call out tomorrow with a bit of luck i shoud be able to get it fixed for tues if i can order the parts tomorrow . The gutting thin is that i have got to the bearing but can not see a way of getting it out without the use of my air chisel ha ha
  13. hi guys last week i noticed that the bottom roler on my chipper looked like it had dropped on the right hand side, i have so far got the hopper off and taken the hydrolic moter off of the bottom feed roler etc etc but i can not work out how to get the bearing off of the hydraulic pump side of the reed roler , can any one shed any light on how to get the feed roler out and change the bearing ???? i woulkd look at the owners manual but that was lent to a fellow tree surgeon and never seen it again , i would be really greatfull for your help guys many thanks Dave .
  14. i tried the pantin with a hand ascender with the dmm hitcher i found it to be really usefull , i would love to get the gear to use 2 pantin's has anyone tried it out yet ???
  15. just goes to show that cheapest wins every time when it comes to the general public , but like SWB said to the general public its just cutting a tree to make it smaller simples , i would have been more supprised if it ad been thenext door neighbour to a tree surgeon.
  16. Did you buy a Husky top handle when they fist came out ? ,put a lot of people off for life. Looks like Husky may have changed . yeah i tried the husky top handle and found it to be more trouble than it was worth , evry one within the company i worked for tried it and nearly everyone wanted to throw it out of the tree ! i did hear a romour that husky are releasing a brand new top handled saw next year , has any one elts heard this ???
  17. not every ground can !!
  18. would look much better in john deer greed and yellow lol:001_tt1:
  19. i had a set of stretch airs for one day and the zip when , i called jonesie and he is replacing them for me , i really hope it was a one off!!!!
  20. would your cabstar tow it brian ??? after the abuse the 12 month old transit has had i sadly think she would struggle lol
  21. who is the dealer over hear for one of them nd do thet do a 10" version lol
  22. it is not much more expensive to live in london than it is in cornwall , pay is not good down here no matter what type of work you do , as for tree surgery down here it is pretty poor , i guess it stems from the simple fact that there are so many people that are willing to buy work that the decent firms can not afford to charge the prices that you can charge further up the country , betwene this thread and the how much do you charge a day thread there seems to be a patern - those who can charge more pay more !
  23. yeah i had checked all of that before calling still , they asked what the carb was on the first one and gave me the part number so i checked it and i had one of the dodgy carbs , i did not expect the other 4 ms200t's that i bought over the next 18 months to all have that carb and neither did i expect stihl to want the full list price for replacing them when they kbew it was a common fault with them , in future i think i will look at husky saws with a little more favor in future !!
  24. would you say that they are what get big pines down ha ha
  25. brian have you bought a set yet , beats those spikey things on those walking caliper thingies !!!!
