  2. hi guys last week i noticed that the bottom roler on my chipper looked like it had dropped on the right hand side, i have so far got the hopper off and taken the hydrolic moter off of the bottom feed roler etc etc but i can not work out how to get the bearing off of the hydraulic pump side of the reed roler , can any one shed any light on how to get the feed roler out and change the bearing ???? i woulkd look at the owners manual but that was lent to a fellow tree surgeon and never seen it again , i would be really greatfull for your help guys many thanks Dave .

  4. just goes to show that cheapest wins every time when it comes to the general public , but like SWB said to the general public its just cutting a tree to make it smaller simples , i would have been more supprised if it ad been thenext door neighbour to a tree surgeon.
  5. Did you buy a Husky top handle when they fist came out ? ,put a lot of people off for life. Looks like Husky may have changed . yeah i tried the husky top handle and found it to be more trouble than it was worth , evry one within the company i worked for tried it and nearly everyone wanted to throw it out of the tree ! i did hear a romour that husky are releasing a brand new top handled saw next year , has any one elts heard this ???

  9. would your cabstar tow it brian ??? after the abuse the 12 month old transit has had i sadly think she would struggle lol
  10. who is the dealer over hear for one of them nd do thet do a 10" version lol
  11. it is not much more expensive to live in london than it is in cornwall , pay is not good down here no matter what type of work you do , as for tree surgery down here it is pretty poor , i guess it stems from the simple fact that there are so many people that are willing to buy work that the decent firms can not afford to charge the prices that you can charge further up the country , betwene this thread and the how much do you charge a day thread there seems to be a patern - those who can charge more pay more !
  12. yeah i had checked all of that before calling still , they asked what the carb was on the first one and gave me the part number so i checked it and i had one of the dodgy carbs , i did not expect the other 4 ms200t's that i bought over the next 18 months to all have that carb and neither did i expect stihl to want the full list price for replacing them when they kbew it was a common fault with them , in future i think i will look at husky saws with a little more favor in future !!
  13. would you say that they are what get big pines down ha ha
  14. brian have you bought a set yet , beats those spikey things on those walking caliper thingies !!!!
  15. now where was the stand that was selling them at the aa show ??? we now all know what we are missing from ou kit bags NOT !!!!!!!
  16. sorry my mistake , i stop when the leaf springs are bent backwards , i guess you must wait till its down on the bump stops !!! has anyone got a 7.5 ton lorry that they have down plated ??
  17. i thought a 3.5 tonner could carry 3 ton lol !!!!!
  18. good news guys , i spoke to husky's technical department this morning , they asked for the serial number so i gave them it and they told me it was a faulty carb and that they would send me a new carb for free , i then asked weather it was common and they told me it was untill they changed the carb from a warbro carb to a zamma , so wile i was there i checked the other serial number on the other 357 and they are also sending a carb for that one for free . tbh im really impressed with there response , its a shame stihl were not as help full with my ms200's i have had to pay for 5 carbs for them !!!!
  19. so does anyone ste there prices lower for larger companies that give them a higher percentage of work ?? ie 450 per 2 man team with chipper would be 350 to the regular client ?? i have heard of a couple companies doing it up in devon , what do you guys think ??
  20. i guess i see it more on connifers as there are far more of them down here than broad leaf trees !
  21. exolent , thanks mate i will have a read through it . i have found sudden limb failure to be more common on the coniferous trees , what do you think ??
  22. me too , sorry:blushing:
  23. so how about the tension on a saw with chain and bar over 20" such as a 48" on an ms880 !! i find that the chain can not be as tight as you would expect it to be . what do you guys think
  24. recently i have come accross several trees that have shed a limb for apparently no reason at all or there are only a couple un certain reasons , on one tree we had the local tree officer out to have a look as the tree was in a t.p.o area , he expliand that there is such thing as sudden branch/limb failure phenomenon , he was explaining that this happes around this time of year in verry humid conditions where transparation is high according to him it is due to high atmospheric pressure . but this is only what i was told by him lol , i can see it kind of makes sense tho!
  25. i must admit i did ask my self was that going to happen when i first saw the thread , but i guess most people on here that work in the same area as other people on here probably already know who charges what IMO
