  1. hiya guys , i have got to the bottom of the bottom feed roler saga , it took several hours to get the bottom bearings off , we ended up having to take half the bottom feed wheel blades off to remove some of the dust and crap to allow me to pull the spline adaptor out which then allows me to remove the bearing , i must say a big thanks to dangerous brian for al of his help and he did come up with the idea of taking the bottom feed wheel blades off now all i have to do is to wait for the parts to turn up , oh and i must say a big thanks to steve at timberwolf for all of his advice .
  2. try a sabb 900 turbo in it - jokes , have a look in the farmers trader there are regularly suitabe engines in there for penuts ! well a few or your english pounds if im honest lol
  3. however if i get any decent timber for milling or planking on site i will give you a shout , hows it going with the mog ??
  4. im sure it will work fine steve , great idea by the way , have you got something similar for getting picture out of groundsmen ha ha
  5. dont worry i think there is more chance of me actully getting these pictures from the grounds man than me flying a load or 12 up to your place mate
  6. i would have used Ainscough's 10000 toner from wales cuts down on fuel costs lol but to be honest i think a chinuk helicopter would have been better , i could have flown it strait up to your place for milling ha ha
  7. bob where is the GRCS in that video ?
  8. Video ?? bloody video ??? the grounds man could not even take some simple pictures and burn them on to cd or email me them let alone be trusted to take a video !!!!!!
  9. nice job looked like great fun
  10. surely for £2.200 they would chuck in a gllon of oil so you can get it home and some red weld just in case ???
  11. that looks great tommy , im sure your father would be so so proud of you ! i hope things are improving for you now .
  12. board the windows up and you can chip into it when your not off camping in it lol:001_tongue:
  13. i have always thinned by % and reduced by either feet or meters , when it comes to reductions tho it all depends where a suitable growth point is , i have seen some reductions where the climber has left growth points the are less than 10% the size of of what has been cut off . what im trying to get at is that to work to bs standards and good arboricultaral practises you dont allways end up with an aesthically pleasing tree , but that is only my oppinion
  14. its not sad at all john i guess your just getting old:001_tt1: but i guess i will warm to them as i get old too
  15. nice pictues , i could not see the bee's nest but im sure the climber that has to work on the tree will !!!
  16. i have asked my self the same question , i was looking at one in a place called helston near me the other day . in my mind 22k = mog and maybe a chipper
  17. i have done one job for an old lady next door to where we were working at the end of the day for a glass of squash lol but normally tend to charger betwene 40 and 50 quid , but recently have been wondering if a should charge hourly
  18. personaly i would rather leave the stump and take what im owed for the rest of the job , at least that way they guy does not get any more reason not to pay pluss you have a good reason not to grind it ! at least this way if he does decide not to pay you have not done anything wrong or caused any dammage .
  19. nice , i cant decide on weather to have a full lenght roof a three quater length roof or thay with a 4 foot roof , the tipper is nearly 9 foot i think , at the moment wh have a chip box that we can move ie when we are on small jobs the box goes to the back so that the sides are level the back of the tipper that way we have room to put the climbing gear etc on the front of the tipper by the cab meaning we only take on truck .
  20. all good points there , i was thinking of fitting new roof on to my chip box thats hinged at the front with gas struts on eack rear corner so that i can lift it up when chipping as i find on windy days the chip goes everywhere but in the end i felt it was way to much trouble .
  21. one of the saws is nearly 2 years old the other is about 9 months old and both have the same carb i would give husky a call and talk to the tecnical dept give them the serial number and they will tell you exactly bob , the only draw back is that the carb has to be ordered by a husky dealer
  22. can seem to get on to that link for some reason , what is it then ??
  23. for the roof i would use 3mm chequer plate and mount it on an angle so that the watter will run off down betwene the tipper and tha cab and it also helps a bit chip into !
  24. thanks bob i didnt realise there was such a think but i have posted a thread so with a bit of luck i will be able to get it fixed . many thanks again
  25. whilst working on friday i noticed that the bottom feed roler had dropped down approximatley 1/2 inch so today i had a further look into it , i hook the hopper of and stripped the the hydraulic motor off of the bottom feed roler and taken the bottom feedroler plate off of the other side i then took the 3 bolts the apeared to be holding the bearing and feed roler together but can not seem to get the feed roler out or the bearing . i would of had a look in the user manual however that was lent to a fellow tree surgeon and he lost it also i have noticed that on the hydraulic motor side the bottom feed roler looks to have cut a clearence into the side plate of the feed roler housing . Does this also need replacing ?? your advice would be really appreciated as im right down in cornwall with no nearby dealers ! Many thanks Dave.
