  1. hiya guys , whils my timberwolf tw190dh has been out of action i have been hireing a timberwolf tw190 turbo vortex . both me and my groundsman felt that the turbo is not as good as our tw190dh , this may be because its what we use day in day out . Granted its a little faster when chipping bigger timbe but thats about the only plus side i can see to having one !. So what do you chaps that have used both have to say about them ????
  2. i personally prefer the husky 288 over most of the newer saws , i have changed the AV mounts and im my opinion there is no difference betwene the 288xp and some of the new huskys when it comes to AV
  3. ha ha i still have a 288xp that i prefer to use in a tree when i need a bigger saw !
  4. thanks for your advice mike , i have ordered a new stub end , set of nylon bushes of both sides of the roler and a new spline adaptor , i was chatting to steve at timber wolf and like you he said that while the macine is in bits you might as well chnge the lot . my only oversight is that i did not order a new anvil which i could have changed at the same time !!!!!! once again thanks for your help and advice its greatfully recieved Regards Dave
  5. it really depends how much you wanna spend tbh , there are some on the market that are ok as long as the item its fitted to is not put into a shipping container or simmilar and are quite cheep of there is the other end of the scale that or monitored by a monitoring company 24/7 and will not only find it but pin point it within 5 -10 meters and send the gprs position to the police . i personally would not look at the cheaper end of the scale at all and on a pluss side the better the tracker the more you can get off of your insurance each year !!
  6. looks to me like englands best method of play is to hope for rain , i dont wanna sound like im not supporting england but s far it looks like they are out calssed and out played . relying on freddie like he is some kind of god is pointless its a team game and tbh england have an awfull lot of dead wood (exscuse the pumm) that they ned to get rid of and bring in some new blood
  7. yeah i have had that happen to me but i really dont wanna go round with my trousers up round my ribs like simon cowell or bob !
  8. i heard that they would not hire it per day and that it needs to be on site for at least 4 days , but how much is it to hire ??? i was having a play in the 50 ton crane we had on site and like the crane driver said its not what your lifting its how far and it needs to be lifted and how far away , you may need a 500 ton crane to lift a pallet of bloks to the far side of a football pitch just depends on the access
  9. to be honest they could do with learning how to steak a tree properly first !! gret idea getting the publik to watter the tree but im sure it will end in tears when some bright spark watters it with bleatchy watter !!
  10. i trust that is inc vat and postage
  11. thaks so much for your help and advice steve and for the further help over the phone , in the end i took 3 of the bottom feed roler blades off to remove some of the residue off , this worked a treat , may be your fitter could give it a go mate , i was amazed when i got the spline adaptor off thst there it was only being held in by dust and crap any way chaps i thought i would take the time to say that this sevrice is great and well worth the effort taken to set it up and i would strongly reccomend anyone with a timberwolf problem to use it , steve at tech support really know,s his stuff !!!
  12. hiya guys , i have got to the bottom of the bottom feed roler saga , it took several hours to get the bottom bearings off , we ended up having to take half the bottom feed wheel blades off to remove some of the dust and crap to allow me to pull the spline adaptor out which then allows me to remove the bearing , i must say a big thanks to dangerous brian for al of his help and he did come up with the idea of taking the bottom feed wheel blades off now all i have to do is to wait for the parts to turn up , oh and i must say a big thanks to steve at timberwolf for all of his advice .
  13. try a sabb 900 turbo in it - jokes , have a look in the farmers trader there are regularly suitabe engines in there for penuts ! well a few or your english pounds if im honest lol
  14. however if i get any decent timber for milling or planking on site i will give you a shout , hows it going with the mog ??
  15. im sure it will work fine steve , great idea by the way , have you got something similar for getting picture out of groundsmen ha ha
  16. dont worry i think there is more chance of me actully getting these pictures from the grounds man than me flying a load or 12 up to your place mate
  17. i would have used Ainscough's 10000 toner from wales cuts down on fuel costs lol but to be honest i think a chinuk helicopter would have been better , i could have flown it strait up to your place for milling ha ha
  18. bob where is the GRCS in that video ?
  19. Video ?? bloody video ??? the grounds man could not even take some simple pictures and burn them on to cd or email me them let alone be trusted to take a video !!!!!!
  20. nice job looked like great fun
  21. surely for £2.200 they would chuck in a gllon of oil so you can get it home and some red weld just in case ???
  22. that looks great tommy , im sure your father would be so so proud of you ! i hope things are improving for you now .
  23. board the windows up and you can chip into it when your not off camping in it lol:001_tongue:
  24. i have always thinned by % and reduced by either feet or meters , when it comes to reductions tho it all depends where a suitable growth point is , i have seen some reductions where the climber has left growth points the are less than 10% the size of of what has been cut off . what im trying to get at is that to work to bs standards and good arboricultaral practises you dont allways end up with an aesthically pleasing tree , but that is only my oppinion
  25. its not sad at all john i guess your just getting old:001_tt1: but i guess i will warm to them as i get old too
