  4. i wish he would , he said yesterday that he would have them today , text him and get him to email me tem mate , otherwise i feel he will need a good thrashing lol
  5. you can also do this with the art positioner , the advantage with the atr positioner is that there is no not to get in the way , i use my strop from the attachment points for the sliding d on my skylotec i find it is alot more comfortable
  6. never seen one let alone used one , what does it have over the art positioner ??
  7. will pop down to the yard and have a look after dinner mate , yeah bramble is good still chewing anything he can get his paws on , when do you start your new job ?
  8. i use a distel with micro pulley but am going to get an art positioner as they are a bit better to use with zero sit back
  9. i really hope not , i have some of the tree part way through the job but wanna post them from start to finnish
  10. verry true mate , it has happened to me as well and i learnt from it !! i think getting your cuts right is most important . but then if your using a big saw in a tree like 660 or an 880 you should have lot of experience using smaller saws first ! a noticed that my skylotec appears to have a tear away tool strop attachment point !
  11. i found that my stein allowed more through air than my old vertex vent but hey i guess its different for everyone
  12. jonesie sold me a set of green peltor ear defenders to go on my stein helmet and they are just as good as husky of sordin ear defenders imo
  13. i have beeu usin a petel for the last 3-4 years but last weekend at the arb show a bought a stein helmet with a smoked visor and a clear visor and this week have found it to be really comfortable , the air vents allow more air to circulate through the helmet and the plastic visors really keep out the saw dust . well worth the money , but from what i have been told neither are to be used on utility cutting according to a w.p.d authorising officer because of the vents in the helmet they provide a much lesser protection from electrical hazards . but i must say that is only what i have been told , other utility companies may be different
  14. i was taught to climb with your saw attached to your harness via a tool strop and if needed and its practical to do so use a tool line from the ground to support it , but when using any saw where there is a possibility that the saw may become trapped in the Kerf of the falling timber then un clip your saw from your harness an either clip it round a branch or clip it up short . accidents do happen i saw a chap get his saw caught in a section of falling timber but thankfully the strop he was using to cary the 660 was designed to tare away , didnt do the saw much good tho !!!!
  15. depends how windy your office is realy doesnt it , or how much you wanna keep your door open lol , but i would agree it would make a decent ash try
  16. paper weight , door stop , super heavy weight for your throw line ( may be better than the treepedo ) or a small plant pot ha ha ha ha
  17. sorry bob are we keeping you up ?? i know your getting old but half nine is a bit early to be needing to stick your teath in a glass of watter ond get some un deserved sleep ha ha ha jokes
  18. i do see your point, its a verry open question in which to ask for a quite specific answer i guess but hey steve is off to watch ice age 3 at the weekend
  19. what gets me about the profesional stihl saws is the fact that the carb is adjusted to its standard settings and the an anti tamper cover is put around each of the jets , my ms361 had them meaning i could not adjust the carb once the saw had beded in which resulted in a trio to my local stihl dealers where they simply took them off for me and tuned my saw . bet you dont get any of that on a jonsered
  20. my point is that a grounds man is a tree worker just like a climber , so the point of the initial thread is does being a good tree climber make him a good tree worker , there is more to being a tree worker than climbing and the skills ascociated with climbing !
  21. a grounds man is a tree worke as well aint he ???
  22. if it helps flip flops are not much cop for foot locking but my red chilli rock climbing shoes are , but then that does not help me at work !!!
  23. so what is the difference in price betwene saws ?? i used an ms260 a few weeks ago and was really not impressed however we use husky 357xp's , i know the husky in a more powerfull saw but still felt that the still was lacking in power and seemed not to be as ergonomic . but the only husky saws i will buy are the 357xp's we dont use any other husky saw its all stihl , maybe i will look at a jonsered as well next time im looking for a saw
  24. what have you bought on ebay then mate ?
