  1. yes if you pay penuts you get monkeys , but monkeys do not spend half there time on the phone do they ross , your a nice guy but really have a good think before you make such comments , to be honest i put you down as not having done much work for a couple or three weeks so lets go down to cornwall and do a few days on a "work trial" and earn a few quid , to be honest im quite disappointed , i let you stay in my home and eat my food not once did you offer a contribution towards any of it did you ????
  2. ross you came down on a 4 day trial , i offerd you 350 on the books and 360 self employed before even seeing you work , yes you have been in the industry for 16 years and yes you do have quite a few tickets but that does not mean i will offer you nearly £400 per week without seeing you work , not once did you ask about pay or try to negotiate on wages , if you dont ask you dont get !!
  3. why is that the ross ????
  4. we quite often get asked by wpd when we are working with them on jobs to fell there old poles , i spiked one as there was no rome to fell it and they are really stable and on lv they are not burried as deep as hv , so do you still do much fencing ??
  5. someone asked him the price and where you could get it but he did not tell us the price and its not available in this country yet (which made loads of sense to me)
  6. the bloke was showing it off when he said look it even comes with a fome cover so that it wont smash any windows if you hit them ??? has he seen what a throw bag can do to a paving slab ???
  7. the new standard for planting poles set by western power distribution is only 8 feet but this is depending on the size of pole and what its use is ie; through pole treminal pole or tx pole etc it was explained that the poles dont need to be down to deep as most of the pressure is downward pressure
  8. lmao nore did he quite have room for a M.E.W.P . a ladder or full version of the baeu tappestery ha ha
  9. hello mate , did you see the post about that job in cornwall ?? i cant remember what the gob shites name was but have a read and see if you can find out who he is and where hes from mate

  10. dear dear i feel your missing the point , i have had several so called climbers cone to work with me and as i said most of them were next useless , i im not going to go into exactly how much but i can assure you that i pay climbers nearer to £400 per weel based on a 40 hour week and ground staf/ trainees are paid just short of £330 per week based on 40 hours a week . with regards to your CV i think i should count myself and staff lucky that we have not recieved it !
  11. was that the guy with the chainsaw tatooed on his back ??

  14. mind you i did see a chap a few days ago using an orange saw labled chain saw , i asked what it was and how much he paid , he said it was a husky second and he paid £65 for it brand new from e bay
  15. yeah i gave them a shout but they could not be to sure when they could pick it up but its ok as the yha will have alot of it for the camp fires and the rest will go back to my yard and get mixed in with the rest of the logs (if a ever can be botherd to do any lol )
  16. i know with miller/ commet they are not using lock tight when manufactured and when you replace the bridge or attachment ring your told to use lock tight when doing the shackles up . (but no torque setting) lol
  17. or you can go for the eco friendly McCulloch with a much faster cut and much much less noise AKA the bow saw ha ha ha
  18. nope no press and no fuss lol , sadly we did not keep track of the ammount of timber . the youth hostel have now said for some reason that they want the main trunk left standing so the decent planking timber is going to be left standing which is a shame but also is great as we dont have to deal with it
  19. oh right do you work for your self or someone elts ? i used to work for the well known arb agency for my sinns ha ha oh and lived in the amaing town of teignmouth (not)
