  5. all the timber and some of the chip as well mate its amaing what a transit will take ha ha
  6. i do indeed steve , would you sit back and allow someone to make a statement about you paying penuts and not give your side of it ?? im based down in cornwall where things are very different to many other areas of the country . im not saying that i pay amazing money but for where i am it is more than some companies pay !
  7. not at all , i am not going to start offering someone top money before they do so much as a weeks work if at the end of the week i thought they were genuinly interested in the job i would offer more , how many guys have you offered top money after doing 4 days work ??? when i learnt about running a buisnes etc one of the first things we were told about when it came to interviews/ work trialls was not to offer the most your willing to pay . it is negotiable at the end of the interview/trial .!
  8. nope sorry i was a ten weeker in sept 2004
  9. ha ha ha ha verry true bob
  10. true alex but i would hate to be seen to walk away without putting all of you in the picture
  11. yes the pics will be on here as soon as i get them mate
  12. lok im not getting into an argument . no i did not ask for and money because that aint they way i work, i did offer to put as it seemed the decent thing to do and to give you chance to come down and see what you thought , you made it quite clear to me that you had other job interviews nearer to your children , at no point did you say you were not interested in the job because of the money you actually said that you would have to see how your kids felt about you moving down here and that was the last i heard from you about it . i assumed you had not been in touch because your kids wanted you nearer to them !!!
  13. i try to pay what a person is worh but how many people will offer someone a job that they dont know and have never seen work and offer them top money , had ross spoken to me about it or been able to stay a few more days im sure i would have offered him more money , i used to work for a guy down here that payed me £50 a day as a climber using my own gear because his was not up to the job so i know about poor wages when after tax i was taking home less than £200 per week , tbh in cornwall the wages are poor but i do feel i make the effort to pay people a fair wage for a fair days work .
  14. yes if you pay penuts you get monkeys , but monkeys do not spend half there time on the phone do they ross , your a nice guy but really have a good think before you make such comments , to be honest i put you down as not having done much work for a couple or three weeks so lets go down to cornwall and do a few days on a "work trial" and earn a few quid , to be honest im quite disappointed , i let you stay in my home and eat my food not once did you offer a contribution towards any of it did you ????
  15. ross you came down on a 4 day trial , i offerd you 350 on the books and 360 self employed before even seeing you work , yes you have been in the industry for 16 years and yes you do have quite a few tickets but that does not mean i will offer you nearly £400 per week without seeing you work , not once did you ask about pay or try to negotiate on wages , if you dont ask you dont get !!
  16. why is that the ross ????
  17. we quite often get asked by wpd when we are working with them on jobs to fell there old poles , i spiked one as there was no rome to fell it and they are really stable and on lv they are not burried as deep as hv , so do you still do much fencing ??
  18. someone asked him the price and where you could get it but he did not tell us the price and its not available in this country yet (which made loads of sense to me)
  19. the bloke was showing it off when he said look it even comes with a fome cover so that it wont smash any windows if you hit them ??? has he seen what a throw bag can do to a paving slab ???
  20. the new standard for planting poles set by western power distribution is only 8 feet but this is depending on the size of pole and what its use is ie; through pole treminal pole or tx pole etc it was explained that the poles dont need to be down to deep as most of the pressure is downward pressure
  21. lmao nore did he quite have room for a M.E.W.P . a ladder or full version of the baeu tappestery ha ha
  22. hello mate , did you see the post about that job in cornwall ?? i cant remember what the gob shites name was but have a read and see if you can find out who he is and where hes from mate

  23. dear dear i feel your missing the point , i have had several so called climbers cone to work with me and as i said most of them were next useless , i im not going to go into exactly how much but i can assure you that i pay climbers nearer to £400 per weel based on a 40 hour week and ground staf/ trainees are paid just short of £330 per week based on 40 hours a week . with regards to your CV i think i should count myself and staff lucky that we have not recieved it !
