  1. ha ha i wish i could get the photos that would be a start , dangerous brian whats wills user on here , maybe we should all leave him a few mesages to remind him !!!!!
  2. i bought the bar ,chain and sprocket from my local stihl dealer so basikly it fitted strsit on to the saw

  4. it has to be a thong made solely from the starter cord from my old ms200 , as for bobs comment i will be hanginh on like an mp at the fore front of an expenses row !!!
  5. hiya i recently decided to put a carving bar on my spare ms200 to see what it was like to use in the tree , however it did mean changing the sproket ! after now using if for a few weks i find im using it for very pruning job i do weather its a crown lift , dead wood or crown reduction . i was just wondering if anyone elts has given it a go ???
  6. bob your such a comedian . think what you like chap but your really starting to sound like one hell of a biter old fool , i have the up most respect for 99.9% of the people on here and am willing to take on board other peoples ideas and points of view and give praise where praise is due . maybe you should think before making such coments in future .
  7. what was the reason for its previous reduction ??? personally if it is in an area with a target such as a school i would look to get someone in to inspect it using Q.T.R.A i dont mean to sound like im putting you down but a little knowledge in situations like this can prove to be dangerous .
  8. it was great fun to do but also was sad that such a specimen had to be taken down , the tree dated back to around 1895 when the monterey pine was first intoduced to the british isles but im still waiting for the pictures from the groundy , if hes reading this he best get sending them to me pronto ha ha

  15. great stuff mate , i ant to get an ms660 as i currently have a husky 288xp but its starting to get a bit long in the tooth and the ms880 is a bit much to be taking up a tree when there is no need to

  17. when ross taylor was down working with me for 4 days he saw my strop thats just like yours also with a snap hook and he said that as a qualified LOLER inspector he would fail it as its not fit for purpose as the snap hook is not 3 way so i got rid of it last wekend when a bought a new set up form jonesie ,

  19. no not all of it , basicly we got it in because of the condition of some limbs and the way in which they were cable braced i felt that climbing it would not be the best of ideas as neither myself or the tree officer could work out what was keeping most of the tree standing , i will post some pictures of the climbing work .

  21. if you had said that before we started i would have paid to see you do it , the final cuts at the top required the 88 but only with a 36" bar
  22. lol will take a picture of the remaining trunk with the transit beside it tomorrow just as a reference ,
  23. fisrs pic is the height of the tree when we started , second is the height the owner wanted it left at for the wild life to enjoy oh an the third is the 18 yearold trainee being let loose with a 50 to crane
