  1. fair point bob , but still when lifting sections of the crown it can be quite hard to judge i made the mistake of taking off way more weight in ne go with a crane than i expected it to be , but hey i lernt from it
  2. flail it then lol jokes
  3. i will have to pop into the dealers tomorrow and see what they can do
  4. anyone know if you can get them for an ms880 ????
  5. verry true , with having the facts such as the S.W.L you can avoid over loading , but how do you judge exactly or even roughly how much the article you are lowering weighs ?? i was working with a crane driver on a job he was saying that out of all the lifts and types of lifts he does and he found that he could not acuratley judge the rough weight of a piece of timber being cut .
  6. hiya the timberwolf tw190 turbo was hired from brandon hire in penzance , what are your views on the 190 turbo and 190 non- turbo ?? i personally have not seen any great diffrence other than the fact that the turbo seems to drink lots of fuel
  7. in fairness i have also seen an approved lowering device that has failed , im not saying that a"home made" lowering device is acceptable to be used but if as brian says it has a cert of conformity then i would assume that this meets industry standards , any of you that know much about welding will understand the differences betwene a lloyds coded welder and a asme coded welder .
  8. sorry was that 60 a day and trust you have your n.p.t.c fueling and starting lol
  9. YET as brian said , i had a climber workinghere and he was starting the saw with the rear handel betwene his legs when he tried to start the saw on the compression stroke , thus leaving him roaling round on the floor like a baby ha ha , give brian his due he did carry on lifting timber all day:001_smile:
  10. im sure brian will waist his money on that NOT lol i learn to start bigger saws from doing it and yes im sure we all have had similar accidents , i did when i first started out in the gme with a husky 3120
  11. so where do you learn to start an ms880 then , i didnt think that there were any course's that tought that . but im sure if there is an ms880 starting course then brian will be on it !!!!!!
  12. i have one and dont seem to have any trouble with it but i find its a pain in the arse to start from a rope and harness or even spikes , how do you guys find it ??
  13. this is cornwall ross , down here your lucky to hear of a lowering kit
  14. any chance of a picture ??? lol you dried out yet ???
  15. i cant see brian adopting the method you and your groundy use , however he does have hair likr repunzle lol
  16. lol sorry i really need to lern to read propperly lol
  17. glad you got to the bottom of it , i was not trying to be rude when i was saying about looking further than fungi etc i was going to suggest thinks such as heavy salting in the winter etc
  18. if it is HF then as monkeyd has said root barriers would be an idea but as the trees as situated in an avenue then ther would be verry little point. however there may be a bit more light shed on this when you fell the dead trees ! what is the rough age of the trees ?? i have found that sometimes i look to hard to try and find a disease etc etc but i will be interested to see what you find when the trees are felled
  19. got the new parts today and guess what ???? they turned up dammaged!! by the courier a would expect . so i called timber wolf , i told them exactly what the problem was and what had happened and they told me that they would sent another set of parts out and that they will be here (the far end of cornwall) by tomorrow lunch time !! what more could you ask for ???? first class service timberwolf
  20. hi justin , how much for a new cp15 ??
  21. that must be because of that norther sense of humor i have got from you bob !
  22. and do you have and documentation to back up your proffound statment ??? lol
  23. i could not agree more , absolutly filthy words spoken , even the late fred would agree im afraid !!!
  24. mytw190dh seemed to be much much better to feed even when new , with the tw190 turbo the feed rolers seem to bounce off of the brash and not feed it through where as my tw190dh the feed rolers seem to dig in and drag anything through . Also the tw190 turbo's feed rolers seem to jam up much easyer , but like you say it may need to bed in but to be honest i was kind of expecting the turbo to chip faster and keep the groundsman on his toes but it didnt , in fact the grounds man spent more time waiting for the chipper to do its thing lol
  25. both chippers had fresh sharp blades , the 190 dh is 18 months - 2 years old and the tw190 turbo is 4 months old
