  1. They really smell when you chip em.......orrible stuff
  2. would have liked to see prodigy but they were playing about the same time as slipknot who i really wanted to see. KSE are one of my favourite bands so its all ways great to see them, they were the only ones i managed to get into the pit for through out the weekend.sevendust were excellent as well spend all of sunday at the second stage so saw everyone bar trivium. marilyn manson was a pile of kac, the worst of the weekend.
  3. Likeing the ideas cheers guys feel more than abit thick that i couldn't work out such a simple solution myself:confused1:
  4. Got back yesterday mate, got well and truely mullered for most of the week and weekend, spent monday morning getting hammered waiting for my coach home. had a great time though.
  5. I don't supply my own insurance as the insurance of the firms i work with covers me and other subbies, if someone wanted me to have my own i'd get its no biggy but right now i have no need to do so. and If i lowered my prices i wouldn't be able to live, my prices go up, not down. If i was or a friend was desperate then maybe ,but as long as there are firms happy to price me in to a day then my rates will continue to rise yearly. I believe i'm worth at least what i charge a day if i didn't i'd charge less.
  6. This morning i was loading my kit bag on the truck and was viciously attacked by my spikes and was given a good stab in the leg. Now the gaff guards that came with my spikes are about as useful as chainsaw sandals. Does anyone make after market hard gaff guards? Also i was thinking of just bodging some with lots of cardboard and gaffer tape. Any thoughts chaps?
  7. Ditto what marc said. I do supply all of my climbing kit and 2 saws should they be needed. I don't supply heavy lowering gear and big saws unless whoever was using me didn't have any then i would buy some. I mostly work for the same guys time and again and i know that they would gladly chuck me some of their old stuff if i needed it. I know that some guys who regularly work together will have kit bought for them. But as i subby i feel that kit should come out of my pocket rather than who im working for.
  8. Started playing with the Knut and knut TK couple of weeks ago. i like it but haven't perfected it yet and haven't used it for work purposes. going to be tinkering some more soon.
  9. No more ballet lessons for him but seriously that has got to hurt....alot.
  10. What one did you get? we need pictures:001_tt1: I'm still trying to convince myself i need one.
  11. Well done for being man enough to post. Makes us ALL stop and think. Cutting and holding over the saw is still something i do, but i'm slowly getting out of the habit. When i start doing it i soon stop and think of these threads and whip the silky out instead. hope you heal up quick
  12. Whilst spliting wood i got a lump in the eye, eye Doc said i could quite easily have been blinded by it, if it had hit me a couple of mm over. wearing specs much more now.
  13. If they(who ever they are) wanted it retained then i would have said pollard to say 12ft. Not ideal but is a short term fix with retention of the tree. But with those crappy unions it should be a fell and replant.
  14. From what i can see looks like a tear out, some closer pictures would be awesome.cracking pictures all the same.

    Tachyon

Having seen and used both it was neither dude. When i said bright orange i meant BRIGHT orange rather than orange and assorted other colours.
  16. Worn the hi flexs since they came out the pair im on now are still in really good nick surprisingly and i do like them. BUT i got a pair of Stretch air As about a month ago and really rate them so far. Do miss not having a back pocket though. Got mine from gustards they seem to be the cheapest...still bloody expensive though.

Bizzarr! Come off the fly, it wasn't my rope but im sure it was tachyon. I don't know any other bright orange 11mm ropes though. Three of us commented on it so it wasn't just me. Strange........
  20. Been in Meindl airstreams for couple of weeks now, abit funky looking but top notch all round.

Just to throw a spanner in the works.. climbed on it today for the first time, didn't like it all far too stretchy. Seemed like it was 2 up 1 down affair during the assent and seemed to have too much bounce when out on the end of a limb. just not my cup of tea, was very light though.
  23. Alloy Geckos for me, just be aware though they are big and bulky, but very comfortable.
  24. I'll be there, it seems to be my yearly holiday.
  25. Admit it you were just trying fracture pruning........
