Use you usual pricing methods... What is your day rate... if your not meeting it spraying then stick to tree work.. Rates can be found in SPONDs for a guide. Day rate+ chemical + extra eqiupment.. make sure you get spec required as there is big price range in chemicals. also take a backback sprayer to a woodland full of water and do 100 trees then use a bit of math... if you know the porposed site all the better... Can't go wrong with that one...

The outbreak is one of a number of threats to Britain's ancient trees. A separate disease, sudden oak death, has spread across the country, killing beach, larch and ash as well as oaks since it was introduced from abroad 10 years ago. This beach sounds a bad place to go on hoilday:001_tt2:.... think they mean beech.. SOD and AOD has been reported in the AA newsletter and other FC publication its a wait and see situation as far as I have read.... -
assuming you have trained/experineced staff in signing... then i would invest in some we use cusack we have sign that hang off cones there light and easy to store.... end signs and tree work titles optional....

TomTom over Garmin we have both.. newer Garmins seem alot better though... What truck do you run in? as most standard sat navs don't have a truck mode so can take you via some narrow roads and bridges...

Short rope a good idea, usually made up from a long rope that was shortend during the day... ooops I'd but 15m lenght no eye... but its your choice.... if monies not and issue the go for spliced eye.....

I would not bee so sure.. I workied with blokes with 15-20 years in and they make the same old mistakes time and time again.. poor practice, and a poor attitude to good practice... If you have a good mind and a willing body then you will succeed, I wish some of these so called veterans would keep up with the times and take on board new ideas that are positive for trees and the industry that we work in... you can,t teach some old dogs new tricks, but others just keep learning, sharing and giving soemthing positve back...

I started in my late 20's but have been a keen rock/mountain climber so found the transistion quite easy.. had rope experience ect so just had to learn what to do when i got out there

The timing belt slipped on my L200 with simular results.. no engine damage though so just a new belt ect.... cost me about £250.00 4 years ago.. mine had done 90,000

I surprised at the rightwinged flavor of many of the posts..... We can all see the problems that are crippling this country.... If your not active in changing things then your part of the problem... I'm have been up for a revolution,, blood on the streets but the wife said i'm to old and i have too many responisibilites (4 kids) and also too old to die young in a blaze of glory... Viva the revolution Make a difference and get amongst it.... don't ignore por behavior and tolerate injustice as the Manic Street Preachers said 'your children wil be next'

So when felling a dead tree and the timber has no inherrant value and is diseased, the client wants it all taken away and disposed of what will you do???? I'd get a licence and sleep easy:thumbup1:

Waste carriers licence is a nessersary evil, how many times do we all load up arisings from stump grinding?????which is mixed waste and you need a WCL to transport Waste transfer licence is a different matter.... if you seperate your arisings and store them on site for sale or disposal then get a bit of advise from the EA...

No harm in checking with your LA... A quick chat will put you in the clear and keeps you in there good books for future works in CA or TPO trees

Does the job, used it on a few projects and had success. Investgatory works and radial trenching, also a handy tool when working near cables and sevices for those who excavate now and again...

Nice thread.... I put on the spf all year round, have a spare hat/cap in the bag for break times, i wear a summer Buff to keep it off my neck and a T-shirt on for most of the day. The dry oil stuff is great.. just remember to re-apply and the SPF reduces each year so buy new each year... and store it out of the sun....

Go to the police, These things can get well out of hand and although the police will probably do nothing if you get any futher problems they will have the initial complaint on record... Also book a few fake quotes for this bully boy, preferably at addresses of other scumbags that might kick the crap out of him if he gets the hump. waste his time as much as possible and enjoy messing him about......
