  2. They where rubbish then (like alot of toys) and even worse now, get your self the real thing... a big boys toy.... Russain ex miltary half tracks go for about £600.00 pound, no road tax and go anywhere..... some will run on petrol diesel mixture which is free from garages that are always draining tankfulls from silly peoples cars.... free fun for all..... thats what on my list for Santa...

  6. If you don't work you don't get anything.... you can insure against loss of earnings either as a company or a individual... Also drawing the line on safety is an issue... As a manager I am reponsible for staff H&S so if its too cold and too dangerous, work has to stop. some staff will work in any conditions especially the less experienced staff.. its difficult to send guy's home if they don't get paid.. we have some wet/cold weather works but its limited... most staff take A/L or unpaid leave..
  7. I'll be wolfing this down when i win it......
  8. It was to hot to climb today!!!! so I stayed in my office chair all day.... must lower the thermostat down in the office...... All our lads where out today... they looked dam cold,,, choice is a fine thing in this weather.... I now appericiate the hard work and studing (and debt) I have done, that allows me this luxury and appriciate all you lads (and lassies) earning the quorn on the front line to keep me going in the office.....
  9. Good price... I think Treesource would match it.. And be better to support a tree related company as they offer a good range of material.
  10. We run Iveco's they just keep going...... 10 on fleet and very few issues and their used and abused...
  11. Looks interesting, used Cobra, staight forward to install, just need a bit of guidence when you select positioning.... Be good to have an alternative... keep us posted if ou find a uk stockist as be good to get a demo.
  12. watch, learn and keep moving... learn to sharpen the saw properly and keep you work area safe clean and in order... take pride in your work... never feel your not good enough to do get on or too good for the less glamorous tasks..... enjoy learn your trees, learn your fungi and most of learn the art of keeping a tight ship... don't let us lazy climbers sit on our asses when they land....
  13. Depends on your capacity and area coverage. Try your local community centres, churches, parish notice boards. Also speak to the local companies installing wood burners ect... the internet has been really useful for new business but we are a big company with a range of services... godd luck:thumbup:

  16. I,d take them back, few lad at work have them and no problems... (The sole always fall off those Haix...)
  17. In the same vain, how many of you have pocketed cash jobs paying no tax or NI???? While the rest of us are paying for tax and NI on all our earnings, while these individuals pay nothing therefore contributing nothing and taking money out of the industry..... Its called society. We pay tax, we claim a bit back... Company owners (bet there are plenty on here) only pay 10% tax on dividends they draw from the company.. the rest of us are paying nearer 25% of income....! I've worked since I was 14 and 25 years of paying TAX, I don't feel that claiming a little back is wrong... so get over it...
  18. We have 10 of these at work and all of them have fallen apart.. supplier has fixed them all free of charge but i'm sure it will happen again... peltor pain in the ass.......
  19. Read the most recent Rfs Level two assessment guide available on line at abc awards. It states that with the theory only you get the level two cert. If you do the practical elements you get a level 2 diploma... I have the theory too and count it as the level 2 cert on my CV.... you may want to confirm this with abc.... just completed my level 3tech cert so not going to spend the additional; £500.00 plus time to get the core AO1 AO6 and and another AO NPTC cert.... hope this helps, let me know what ABc say on the matter if you contact them.
  20. Yes, been there too, you'll never forget, and every time you look in the mirror or hear yourself say certain things you'll remember.... as long as your around she will live on within you,, I know my mom is still alive and well in my blood and bones.... Stay strong... take care...
