  1. Send your details to Acorn Tree Surgery Limited [email protected] We may have something for you very soon
  2. Totally agree... poor training therefore poor results.... Colleges are the worst offenders...... Churning out qualified and clueless individuals,,, its scary in a fairly high risk working environment that is charged with the care and preservation of such vital landscape and ecological features...
  3. Ditto..... what a pointless thread....
  4. I was under the impression that lantra had been all but dissolved?? So the Lantra training you recieved had no bearing on the NPTC assessment??? Did the Lantra training mention what it was leading to? or was it a strange coincidence that you undertook the NPTC assessments following the training??? Therefore taking pre-assessment training!!!
  5. Not sure anyone else is confused....
  6. Historic issue i think, Lantra and NPTC plus others co-existed and the NPTC became the assessment/qualification required as an industry standard... You can be assessed with no formal training.... NPTC training that is refered to is the pre assessement training required to gain the NPTC certificates. as studing A levels or GCSEs is to gain the qualifications... Its not complicated honest.....
  7. Had simular requests in the past... Children are natural climbers.... give them a hand saw and away they go.. If they fall save us a bit on welfare payouts too...
  8. Who questioned you??? And in what capacity?? Was it a dealer trying to make some extra money? Makes no sense at all unless you have had issues with failiure of made up chains.... or you set up does not meet PUWER regs... Ie..not fit for purpose!!!
  9. Log date of purchase as 5 year working life unless specified as less... All kit has a 10 year life from date manufacture, if its been in a store or on a shelf for over 5 years it gets a shorter working life.... LOLER as above and don't forget PUWER so log all other issued/purchased kit and monitor including PPE... This always an issue when you invest in specialist kit that rarely gets used, you end up killing off kit that looks like new but thats the rules.....
  10. 57k thats where all our council tax is off too...... The 4x4 option allows them to haul up in some really good hiding places at 11.00am when they have finished for the day...... with the 0.025 tonne of chip from the 2 cat B thins they have knocked out and got there day in....
  11. A few Lads at work have them.... mixed response but overall not really any better than Haix so not sute its worth the extra £30.00 a pair...
  12. Angle grind there Boll*cks off,,,,,
  13. Goodbye Gordon.... Hello Etonian David Cameron... God Help us
  14. Keep us up to date....if it works out ok. sounds like good value...
  15. Best spikes i've used... aluminium ones are just as good too
  16. Will confirm location tomorrow as i'm on another site but not sure which job the gang is on (housing association sites) so all over
  17. Thank for the advice but the 2 council run depots want to charge £25.00 per tonne:thumbdown:. I have customers in Warwickshire who will have the chip and pay for log, just wanted to cut down on transport of materials... Also tipping off during the day a 1 to 1 1/2hour round trip:sneaky2:
  18. No takers, have Ash and Horse chestnut on next job
  19. We have picked up a few contracts in the Leicester Area and require tipping sites for log and chip, or collection of log from site..... In the area all this week.
  20. Hi all, Can anyone enlighten me on the tree and woodland types at Duxbury Park Chorley as trying to get the heads up for the Tech Cert Management day be nice to know what to expect as it's not my neck of the woods. Cheers:thumbup1:
  21. Stick to powder... greese and WD leave residue.. if there really sticky give them a wash (fairly liquid in warm water) allow to dry completely then reapply some graphite powder.. Make sure its not damage or ware that is causing the Krab to stick.... retire if in doubt £15.00 is not much for piece of mind...
  22. This should be sent to all those lads I've worked with who make out they do the hardest job in the world and it makes them hard as nails.... these guys look nails, the real deal... I bet they did'nt live to retirement... that type of graft puts years on ya...
  23. Nice pics for your viewing:001_smile:
