  1. Colleges and cutting edge don't go together, the staff are often non working arborists who use antiquated techniques (fueled by the requirements of the assessments or plain lazy staff). I am in the camp that this is a poor reflection of the college and marketing team. I'm sure the designer got the proffs signed off apathy will probably be the main cause as with many things in life......
  2. Our trees are the most improtant part of our british landscape, in particular the urban landscape. The often the largest and significant living organsims in our environment with the ability to make us feel safer, happier and secure.. House prices are higher in streets with more trees, or near areas with increased number of trees, Who we are, what we achive and what we leave as our legacy to our children is in our hands. I for one have felled magestic oaks for supermarket deveploment and lost sleep, but i have also planted thousands of trees for the future.... I hope i have a positive legacy to leave on this beautiful island we all call home..... I hope my children will enjoy the trees i have managed and planted. I hope they appriciate the envionment as i do, and aim to make a postive contribution to improving it for the good of all.... Enjoy Trees, respect them and don't worry to much about the politics. There is a lot wrong in world, don't add to the problem just do whats right and sleep easy....
  3. Looks like its never been used..... or you don't get your hands dirty!!!

  6. Snow None here as yet, but just started to fall......
  7. We all take a different approach to work, take any other work place, there is always the bloke in the 70,s ill fitting suit with dinner stains and BO sweat patches... and then you get the fashion victim in skinny fit trousers and a pencil tie... I say use what works and live and let live..... its not doing anyone any harm and some of this new kit does work and if it looks good too then so be it....
  8. I'd aim for £100.00 is possible. Holiday, sick time and other stuff
  9. I'd reccommed a basic course also will pay back in time and money on saw maint and effective use as well as the obvoius safety issues.... If your local dealer is Stihl or Husqvarna go for either... size depends on useage size of timber ammount of work... Good luck
  10. Climbing is just a veichle to get to your work place, some like to drive the old classics some will buy anything that looks good without even test driving it.... I use what works for me and the tree.. For long term health i would reccommeded mixing it up a little.. reduces muscoskelital disorders and gives you longer in the tree before getting fatigued.....
  11. Decathlon if theres one Locally, Go for a windstopper fleese type... base layers improtant Merino wool stuff is pricey but excellent, and you can wear if for a few days if you like before washing as they don't smell like synthetic stuff.
  12. ability to supress growth of other plants by chemicals in leaf litter
  13. avantagoeus growth... root systems storage of energy height spread
  14. The fence will last longer than the Tree..... Nice job....
  15. More than likey a Hybrid, but if its a true Black, then might be worth retaining if possible.
  16. apply to the Utilities companies for maps of services... they send them free.... Just say your planning felling and grinding works in the areas you want maps for.....
  17. It was listed as new, but may be hookey and not sure the LOLER inspector would reccomend a E-bay purchase... Rather pay the extra £40 from Honey Brothers (including postage)
  18. Keep the outlaws sweet think of the inheritance... If there skint, get out your big shot and knock the pussy out the sky..... did you do it?????
  19. Take the rough with the smooth and things should even out, if they don,t the rethink the pricing on the jobs... I work with a guy who gets in wrong all the time and it gets really annoying when you have to work late, work your breaks ect to get fininish for no money..... Don't be a busy fool,,,,
  20. I've seen something simular on redtube :-)
  21. I'm no expert.... where are you going and what time of year.... Not to do myself out of a sale, won't you hire company provide the chains? I reckon the ones i have will be to small but i will check. My misses used the ones i have and she got then on and off no problem She's only petite and does not even like putting fuel in the car so i'm sure you could manage. They can damage the rims though if fitted poorly but we had no issues...
